“We will be back, 4 Star value at 2 star rates”

This is an excellent property, quiet location, fantastic "Tudor" style buildings set in a village green. Modern but old, like an english manor house inside. Excellent staff, professional and friendly. All the facilities you would need. We didnt have time to try the restaurant, but the setup and menu look great. We will be back for an extended stay, highly recommended.

“Fabulous”

My 6 night stay was outstanding. I had an upgrade to a one bed cottage with a spa bath and four poster. The whole place was immaculately clean and cared for. There was gentle music playing when i first went in and the small kitchen was well equipped enabling me to self cater easily. The hotel staff were warm welcoming and informative and it was a great little place to return to after long days out kayaking and walking. The resort as a whole was quiet and private and I loved the feel of being in my own little cottage with all the amenities of a great hotel. Would definitely recommend and definitely return.

“Pleasant room / excellent service / wonderful restaurant / a bit noisy”

Four of us stayed 2 nights in March 2011. Two rooms on the second floor. Small but comfortable. Made the mistake the first night of leaving open the windows, and the highway noise was objectionable. The second night we closed up and slept well. Extremely helpful staff - helped with Abel Tasman tour arrangements. Excellent meal in the hotel restaurant, even tho we arrived late - gracious service and wonderful meal. Second night we walked across the street to another restaurant - fabulous seafood stew! Very few other choices in walking distance. Very close to airport - easy access for early flight. Wish we'd had more time to enjoy the delightful terrace. Also wish the tide had been high while we were there - water view was more mud that water, but still a lovely spot to stay. Limited morning coffee/tea facilities without going to restaurant. All in all we'd stay there again if in Nelson.
