“Pleasantly Surprised”
I was only needing a place to sleep and did not expect much since the reviews are so low. I was pleasantly surprised. I have never stayed in a 5 star but this was much more than I was expecting from the reviews...beautiful decor, clean and comfortable rooms, beach access, swimming pools, tiki huts with drinks and food, etc. The casino may interest some but it was not on my agenda though it looked classy. When you stay at the Wyndham you also have access to the Sheraton property next door which has several more pools and a nice two story gazebo. Jet skis, water slide, and boats are readily available. The property has plenty of hammocks, lounge chairs, and sandy beaches to curl up on. There was a wedding on the beach while I was there and it was beautiful. The sunset was gorgeous. I never felt unsafe even being out on the beach alone at dusk. Great family environment. I must go back when I can stay longer. Great value for my dollar. I got much more than I expected and would definitely go back and stay here again.
“i enjoyed my trip and would go back in a minute”
The staff and the food and overall I would return and recommend this hotel highly. Those of you who don,t like it must have had blinders on. Try their coconut drinks try their water activities nothing but fun.
“I was confused on why this hotel had bad reviews...”
As someone who thoroughly researchs hotels before booking them, I came upon these reviews of the Wyndham before finally booking this hotel. I booked the Wyndham with speculation considering there are so many bad reviews saying that the decor is outdated and the rooms were not well kept. The Wyndham surpassed every expectation that my mother and I had when we arrived in the Bahamas. We were supposed to have an "island view" and we got upgraded for free to an ocean front room in the "C" tower. Our room was immaculate and very clean. The decor was NOT outdated at all (and this is coming from someone with high expectations). The service was excellent and the hotel staff was willing to accomodate any request that we had. Overall we were 100% satisfied with the Wyndham!
“Can't wait to go back, very comfortable hotel.”
This was a great place to stay, they had everything to offer for comfort and relaxation.
“Best Choice on Cable Beach”
Overall, the hotel was great. Great rooms, friendly staff, and beautiful beach. Definitely the best choice of the three hotels on Cable Beach (It is between the Sheraton and Breezes). Stay away from Breezes unless you're looking for a drunk spring break vibe. The Sheraton skews old and boring the Wyndham was a perfect match of being comfortable and clean as while also having some life. The food options aren't great and are ridiculously expensive anywhere on Cable Beach (so take a cab to Arawak Cay and go to the fish fry). Good news about the Wyndham is that there is free wifi in the lobby, which helps keep you in touch with the world, particularly since using a phone in the Bahamas is so expensive that it is an non-option. So bring your laptop, because there is a queue for the computers that the hotel provides.
“This place rocks!!!”
We stayed here over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The staff is jovial and friendly. They were extremely helpful in suggesting activities and places to visit. The view is wonderful. This is a great place for a vacation.
“Going back in the fall.....”
I have been to the Wyndham many times and always enjoy my stay.I normally travel with friends but sometimes I go alone for a quick getaway. When I do, I stay at the Wyndham. The staff is outstanding and sincerely courteous. I am treated like family. There's never a need to venture alone downtown in the evening. The restaurants are great; the casino is right there and - my favorite - 2 2 (degrees) Above. This is a bar/lounge area above the casino with the best bartender and the best house band I've ever heard and there's always a full dance floor when they play. And then there's that beach.................
“Room and view of water and beach was awesome”
Great Hotel
“Decent for the price”
This hotel is self contained and away from downtown. I liked the small park (half a mile stretch) infornt of the hotel for evening jogging.
“A great hotel for the price. Would definitely go back!”
The hotel was very good value for money. We were originally put in a room with an island view (for which we had paid). However, it was overlooking the main entrance and was quite noisy on the Saturday night. Fortunately the hotel moved us to a different tower with a sea view but this time with a view of the air-con units too, along with the noise they create. After problems with towels not being replaced; yes, you heard it right, they moved us to another room with a sea view and it was very quiet. They had no issues with moving us and after another incident with towels not being replenished, they gave us a complimentary meal, worth about £50.00 (we did not ask for this it just arrived under our door when we were out). I therefore could not fault the service of the hotel and all the staff were always extremely helpful and happy. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel. The casino was good fun and quite large. I am therefore surprised that some people did not find it an enjoyable experience after comments read before we booked. We loved it there!!
