“Long weekend”
Tastefully refurbished historic hotel on the outskirts of town. Our room was upgraded (free) to a beach view room, and though not large the room was adequate and clean, and the bed though softer than we are used too, surprisingly comfortable. Our stay included the breakfast buffet, which we found excellent. We ate dinner in Aqua several evenings, the food was good, and the house wines surprisingly high quality for the price ( by the glass). The wait staff were very attentive, thougth we did find the service slow, but perhaps we just weren't used to island life. The hotel's beach was small but adequate with plenty of sunbeds/towels when we were there, though it was not high season. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and accommodate our requests. In all we would be happy to return here, and wish that we'd had more time to spend on this visit.
“"More than I expected"”
The hotel was nice and clean..the staff was very polite and the beach was well kept. The hotel was nearby everything downtown. We either walked to nearby shops or restaurants. We took cab to places in longer distance, like Atlantis. Can't wait to go back.
“Very nice hotel”
The hotel is wonderful, the private beach it has is a little small but very well maintained, we loved going out there and sunning on the lounge chairs or reading under the umbrellas. Also, if the ocean isn't your thing, they also have a pool right next to the beach for less sandy water fun. The area around the hotel is nice; there are a lot of restaurants, notably Senor Frog's, an nice laid-back restaurant to get food and drinks. Also, if you don't mind a 10~156 minute walk, it's very close the the fish fry, a chain of restaurants including the famous Twin Brothers seafood & steak house and their world famous daiquiris. it's also basically right next to the straw market, for all your shopping needs, and about a five minute walk from the ferry terminal, which can take you anywhere else you want to go, like Paradise Island. The only thing that went slightly off was one day the maid caught us in our room while she was going to clean; she claimed she would come back after she did a couple more rooms on the floor, but when we returned several hours later we found it was never done, and remained messy for the day. Every other day, though, the room was impeccably cleaned. The concierge was always willing and able to give us very clear directions to the fish fry, ferry terminal, and anywhere else we wanted to go, and all the staff was polite and friendly. Would definitely stay there again if we returned.
“Highly Impressive”
I found the staff to be very attentive to details. Sean at the front desk was very nice, he offered to send a playpen to the room for our daughter without having to be asked. Also, Andrea in the Hotel's restaurant 'Aqua', was very attentive and helpful as well. The second morning there, my 1year old and I went down to Aqua for the buffet breakfast, which was also wonderful, very impressive display, Andrea was friendly and offered to bring items over for us, eliminating me having to go back and forth either struggling with a 1 year old, or leaving her unattended. The bellstaff was also very efficient and friendly as we had also utilized the Valet service, and particularly recall Matthew, who was always pleasant. We would definitely stay again, and recommend others to do the same.
“British Colonial Hilton”
I travel many days of the week and have stayed many places. BC Hilton far surpassed everything to date. Authentic Colonial/British Decor. Outstanding service by all employed. Would refer everyone I know and dont know !!
“Had a wonderful time, already looking to go back!”
This hotel is in a great location, close to the Straw market, the fish fry and all the shops - Everything is in walking distance and only a short $11 cabride over to Atlantis - It was fantastic to sit on the private beach and watch the Cruise Ships turn around at the port. Buffet Breakfast was nice, too. Only issues was that the hotel would really benefit from some kind of evening dinner buffet as not much choice for an evening meak besides Hard Rock Cafe or fast food, Free internet would also have been a plus. Room (181) was opposite the Gym - Could get noisy at time (people leaving the gym and standing outside at room at 6am was not my idea fo a wakeup call) but it was a large room, very clean, good choice of tv channels etc. Definately would recommend and use this hotel as a base when visitng Nassau again - we're planning another trip because we liked it so much..
“Loved it!”
We absoultely loved the Hilton. The location is perfect. Because it is so close to the cruise ship port, there were many restaurants and shops within short walking distance. Senior Frogs is right on the side of the hotel and they had great 2 for 1 drink specials. There is a grocery store very close so we could fill the room fridge. The staff was absolutely accomodating to any request we had, and we couldn't walk by them a hello and a smile. A water taxi to Paradise Island is a 5 min walk from the hotel. We spent a day there, and for us a day was plenty. Atlantis is gorgeous, but it felt a little manufactured to us, like Disneyland - very cool, but not why we went to the Bahamas. Definitely worth checking out, but we were glad to get off Paradise Island and back to Nassau. The Colonial Hilton beach was plenty big for us. One the busiest days (5 cruise ships in port), I think there were about 30 people using the beach. there were plenty of times on our trip where there may have been 5 or 10 people on the beach. Our room was on the island side, but we didn't have a problem with the noise at all. My guess is if you're closer to the Senior Frogs/Straw market side you may hear more noise. We felt very comfortable walking around town (although we spent most o fthe time laying on the beach) - everyone was friendly. We couldn't find anything close to this price with the same amenities. My wife said this is the hotel she wants to stay in next time we go to the Bahamas.
“Try. It. You. Will. Like. It”

“Great Location”
First time in the Bahama's and thought the hotel was situated in an ideal location. Close to the water with their own beach area, outdoor shopping area for the locals and the famous "Senor Frogs" restaurant/bar. We felt safe and walked to the nearby shops, restaurants, etc. The hotel was very clean and we were satisfied with the room overall.
