"We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end"
The hotel is idealy situated in the centre of town, close to many of the local sights. The tour bus goes from just outside the hotel. There is ample private parking. there is no lift in this listed building.

"Lovely hotel, excellent location."
Not told when checking in that you can park in the NCP car park for £4.50 for 48 hours (cost £10 at hotel). Not told about discount voucher for breakfast £10 instead of £15 per head. Only found out by overhearing another guest talking. Apart from this I would really recomment this hotel.

"Excellent hotel in a fabulous position"
We had a wonderful two nights in the Arden. The staff were very pleasant and treated us as if we were treasured guests. We had a problem with one of the taps and it was sorted out immediately. The balcony area overlooking the street and the banks of the river just beyond is beautifully laid out as is the rest of the hotel. Dinner in the Brasserie was excellent and the surroundings were beautiful. Sunday morning breakfast wasn't quite so well run but it was very full with wedding guests. It was quite an expensive weekend but we felt as if our money had been well spent and would go there again at the drop of a hat!

"A great mix of old and new"
We booked this hotel for its old world charm and its modern facilities. We stayed for one night while enjoying Shakespeare's 'Two Gentlemen of Verona' at the Stratford RSC Theatre. Check-in was friendly and efficient and the room was excellent - nicely (aircon) cooled on a hot afternoon, newly decorated and spotlessly clean. The bathroom also looked new with large walk-in shower and huge rain shower head. Tea/coffee making facilities included real milk in the mini fridge along with complimentary bottled water. We took a taxi to the theatre in the evening (fare £2.90) and strolled back after the performance (not a taxi in sight after dark!). Breakfast was served in the bar; staff were welcoming and service was good. The small buffet was complimented by an excellent a la carte menu; both the eggs benedict and eggs royale were delicious. Coffee could be a bit stronger, otherwise couldn't be faulted. Shakespeare's birthplace was only a two-minute walk away from the hotel.

"Friendly, comfortable, conveniently located B&B."
I chose this place because I was amused by the name. It was a great place to stay. The owners were friendly but not overbearing. The room was comfortable and clean with a nice new bathroom. The breakfast was great. The owners were very up-to-date on what was happening at the RSC so would be good if you needed a recommendation.

"Beautiful Hotel"
We were very satisfied with The Stratford. The hotel was beautifully furnished, the beds were very wide and comfortable, the included breakfast was a full English Breafast, and the stafff, both day and evening were very helpful. We had dinner at The Stratford, the dinner menu prices were reasonable, and the food was very good. We wanted to follow the complete Shakesspeare Tour. The staff helped us get tickets for the tour, and gave excellet directions. We were late in arriving because of built up traffic on the toll road and heavy rain. The staff knew we would not be able to complete the tour that afternoon. They allowed us a late check-out, and they also allowed us to keep our car parked in their lot while we completed the tour. Compared to our Expedia London Hotel, The Stratford was the greatest. Barbara N. Chandler

"All around delightful stay"
My son and I spent two nights at the White Swan and had a lovely time. The staff were incredibly accommodating, welcoming, and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant our first night there and the food was delicious. While the wait staff were courteous and nicely mannered, the service fell short a bit and was slow. It was fine, as we weren't in a rush, but it took some time to get the attention of our waiter a few times. We booked the bed and breakfast deal and were very happy. There was a small buffet table with pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, etcetera, but we also ordered from the full breakfast menu which was excellent. The location is IDEAL. It is walking distance to everuthing, including the train station, but isn't on a loud, busy street. The rooms were pleasant and very clean. They have recently renovated, so they have all modern amenities. The bathrooms were beautiful for example, but the old charm was in tact. There is a lot of history in this old place and we found it perfect for a stay in Stratford-Upon-Avon. I appreciated also, that at check-out they only charged me the exact amount of our dinner, which came to less than the amount I paid for a pre-booking deal. I was offered a 10% discount for future visits which I plan on using. I would highly recommend The White Swan to anyone looking for charming, comfortable, elegant, and convenient accommodations in Stratford-upon-Avon.
