“We will stay there again!”
If you want a clean comfortable room with a friendly and helpful staff at a low price, this place is for you! The hotel is very tricky to find. It's across the street from the University. You'll notice a odd little alcove on the right side of the street. When you walk into it there is a gate on the right hand side. Ring the buzzer labeled Hotel Europa. After they buzz you in you'll see a door directly in front of you labeled Hotel Europa THIS IS THE WRONG DOOR. Instead turn left and walk all to the end of the passage. The last door on the right is the correct one. Ring the bell there as well. The hotel is on the 4th floor, but you will climb 6 flights of stairs to get there. There is an elevator that you can take for 10 euros, but I only used it once. If you don't have much luggage you can walk from the train station in 15 minutes. The hotel is very tricky to find. “Behind a comforting gate”
Naples is notorious for crime! And you sense it as soon as you get out of the main train station (we were fighting off pickpocketers 5 minutes in). This hotel, however, is behind a gate and 4 floors up making you feel somewhat...dare I say it...safe in Naples. It was slightly difficult to find (it´s not in the piazza...it´s down a side street) but as a couple, we were completely satisfied with the full bed and private shower for a great price!
“Perfect for basics”
If your needs are minimal, and you simply want a safe, clean and comfortable room in the middle of Naples (near the University), then this inexpensive hotel is absolutely the right place. The staff all understand English, and are always available so coming and going through the day and night is fine. The rooms are cleaned daily, with bed linen and towels also changed daily. All in all, the stars are meaningless - for our simple needs this place was perfect. One small thing - a kettle is not a well understood concept in Italy, so if you like a first/last thing cuppa, then pack a cheap kettle. Don't be scared of the alleys - best shops, museums and cathedrals are well hidden. Get a tourist map first thing, and go to Ercolana rather than Pompei.
“hotel charmant a Naples”
