“A really nice getaway!”
This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Or to be more exact, one of the nicest condos. If you are expecting someone to make your bed and supply clean towels every day you are at the wrong hotel. But if you love having a real home away from home Pacific Shores is for you. Huge condos with full kitchens - the one we were in was brand new and had high end stainless fridge and stove. MY only criticism would be that it isn't very soundproof. We were in a double suite - my room was actually an adjoining junior suite and you could hear my television from the living room in our adjoining full suite. But worse, our upstairs neighbours had a child who seemed to just stomp back and forth the whole length of the suite for hours at a time. Very annoying but we were so relaxed after all the time spent between the spa and the various hot tubs we couldn't be bothered to go up and complain. Door-to-door from my house, Pacific Shores is 2 hours away so I will look forward to going back often to this fabulous resort.
“Fantastic place to stay”
Pacific Shores is our favourite place to stay in the Parksville area. It's well-maintained, first class accommodations. It also has an excellent on-site restaurant, and is in a superbly picturesque setting.
“Without a Tent”
It was raining all Victoria Day long weekend and we were so excited to be staying in a room with a roof rather than with our friends in a tent! A little pricey, but nice room with new furnishings and a good view. Why they have a toaster in the room and not a microwave, we'll never understand!
“Beautiful spot on the water”
We were looking for a quiet, relaxing spot on the water and this resort is much more than a hotel. It has a very good restaurant, beautiful grounds to walk around and all the amenities you would want. The hot tub by the point looked like it could use some attention, but otherwise we would definitely go back again.
“Nice place for a get-away”
A largish kitchen and a full size dining room in the suite makes it possible to prepare own meals easily. Although the dining room associated with the resort is very good value for money so makes eating out very tempting. The two bedroom suite gives nice separation of space for two couples as well.
“Great Stay!”
The hotel rooms were beautifully decorated, and they were huge. We had two adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 1-10 and it was almost too big for us. It was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was helpful, but didn't go out of their way. The pool facilities were average, and there were no towels in the change rooms. This meant we had to bring them from our hotel room on the other side of the complex, and since they don't have housekeeping every day we ran out of them quickly. Overall a great stay!
“Needs maintenance.”
Jacuzzi didn't work which was what we were looking forward to. The bed frames are all larger than the mattresses and stick out so that each one of us hurt our toes to the point that mine felt broken and is still swollen - odd design. The grounds are beautiful but front desk staff obviously don't like their job.
“Average”
The hotel was well kept and the grounds were well maintained. The room was beautiful, however, they do not offer house keeping. They also do not provide complimentary coffee
“Not impressed”
I felt cheated. Everything that was advertised just barely met the description. 'ocean view' meant you could see the ocean if you looked around the corner when the tide came in. "HD TV" was HD, but so small that it didn't even matter. I ordered room service, but I had to walk to the restaurant myself. and then the food was just ok. the hot tubs were totally ghetto. Everything looked like it was from the 80's, but the place was built in 2008. They clean rooms once a week, and expect you to hand wash your own dishes in the bathroom sink. No continental breakfast. Why am I paying more for a resort when I can get better service and comfort at a hotel? The only thing I liked was the jetted tub. but again, they called it a jacuzzi when it's just a jetted tub. not happy.
“Terribly expensive for poor service and quality”
Just as other people were not impressed, I was not impressed, too. This is a time-share condo, so it should not be listed in Expedia. You do not get resort experience at all. We stayed in studio with no kitchen. I guess we are supposed to use BBQ outside. Rooms were not ready by the time we checked in. Housekeeping is very poor. You do not get your room cleaned for 7 days. No clean towles unless you ask for. Studio rooms are dark with no airconditioning. Cheap constructed building, so you can hear everything from next door. I have never stayed such a bad place for this kind of money.
