“Nanaimo's best”

Despite being a little difficult to find, Maple View B&B suited our purposes perfectly. Peter, a chatty brit from Preston, Lancashire, greeted us and showed us to our room (Rosebud). Although not huge, for an overnight stay, this was very comfortable, and contained an excellent en -suite. Peter recommended a very good local hostelry about 10 minutes drive away, and gave us easy directions. We were the only clients staying and agreed breakfast for 8.30am based on our ferry departure the following morning. Currently Peter is running the b&b on his own as his wife is suffering a serious back condition which limits her activities. The choices for breakfast were agreed the night before and Peter's culinary skills were fine. We would certainly stay again if in Nanaimo

Maple View B&B was everything I expected. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfasts were great. Set only a few minutes from town, this was a very nice place to stay.

One of or the best B&B we have stayed at in all of Canada, We want to move the bed to our home and have Peter do our breakfast every AM seriously. We loved the stay.

This B&B is in a quiet residential location, with a beautiful back yard and deck. The breakfast was out of this world. The whole place was clean, comfortable, and very inviting. But the best thing of all was the warm welcome and outstanding service from Peter & family. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

My wife and I were on our way to Tofino and spent the first night of our honeymoon vacation at the Maple View. What a great start! Peter was already helpful on the phone and we were sure to give him a heads-up on our arrival time (which was 8:30, kinda late by B&B standards). He greeted us and did everything he could to ease our worries about arriving late, and showed us all around the room. All facilities were up-to-date and modern, which impressed us to no end. It's nice to experience a B&B that isn't afraid to look like a modern establishment rather than an antique shop. We decided on breakfast that night and in the morning, we go to eating around 9:00 or so. Peter had a full coffee pot ready, cereal, fruit, yogurt and my pancakes were just wonderful (as were my wife's eggs and sausage). Aside from cooking skills Peter was a real nice guy and a pleasure to talk with (and laugh with). We're from Texas and he's from England, so we had a lot of fun talking about accents. Anyway, we can't say enough good things about our stay. The only problem was that driving at night made navigation a little difficult. I tried the best to write down directions, but they can only be so helpful when you can't see much! Of course, finding the place makes it all worthwhile.
