“everything you'd need at affordable price in this recession times”

I was pleasantly surprised that even though I did not pay a fortune for my two-days stay, this hotel management thought of everything someone on the road can possibly need. Free breakfast counts much too. Don't be tricked by the outside not-modernized look-- oyur room is gonna be clean and friendly. But there isn't elevator so you'd need to be fit enough to carry you luggage upstairs. Location is very strategically near the waterfron walkway, Bastion-- heritage objective and is within walking distance to Nanaimo downtown. Thank you.

“Family Fun times!”

Very happy with the service and the room. An older hotel with nice updates. The pool is heated and clean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Good deal.

“Walk to Nanaimo harbor front”

pleasant, clean, inexpensive place. Nice walk to Nanaimo harbor front and activities-- path is adjacent to motel. We overnighted here to catch the early ferry the next morning.

“Great Stay”

I was very pleased with my hotel during my one-night stay. I had a single queen room that was non-smoking and it was just what I was hoping for. The bathroom was nice and clean. It was a quiet, restful night and then I had the continental breakfast in the morning which was awesome!! The food was great! I was very pleased by every aspect of the hotel: service, cleanliness, comfort, food and the price. If I go through Nanaimo again I will stay at the Howard Johnson Habourside Hotel.

“Great stay!”

The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the pool was refreshing! Breakfast was delicious and ample. I look forward to staying here again!

“Nice place to stay.”

We had a double queen room for 2 adults and 2 children (6 1/2 months and 3 1/2 years) and there was plenty of room for us to move around in there even with the playpen set up in the corner. We were in a poolside room which would be really nice in the summer as we could go straight from our room to the pool with the kids. Also the complimentary breakfast was very nice. We would stay there again next time we go to Nanaimo.

“Will go again when in area”

First impression was that the suite doors etc looked a little tired but interior of units was quite good and breakfast was excelent.
