“Sleeping among the animals---literally!”
This hotel is the former U.S. Embassy offices (after the bombing) which was renovated into this exquisite hotel nestled on the border of the Nairobi National Park. Sitting on the veranda in the mornings at breakfast in the cool brisk air while listening to all the varieties of birds chirping and watching the giraffes graze is something that can't be matched by any other hotel I know of. The staff is highly attentive. The rooms and impeccably maintained. The gym is equipped with the newest equipment. The Travel Desk staff arranged all of my tours and visits (Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick's Elephant Park with City Tour and National Museum, and Karen Blixen House) at (negotiated) reasonable rates. The hotel is between the airport and downtown, so you are within a short taxi ride (and inexpensive) to all the major tourist sites. I am sure you'll enjoy this location. For the price, it cannot be beat!
“Great stay”
Stayed in a few places in Kenya on this trip. What a joy this was after more local hotels. I was ready for some spoiling. Was told this hotel was once the American Embassy.
“Wow”
What a beautiful hotel. All the public spaces are stunning. The room was large (we upgraded) and really tasteful. The staff were friendly and polite as we have found everywhere in Kenya. We told the hotel it was our wedding anniversary and they gave us a lovely cake with some fruit and wine, we were very touched. Sadly we only saw an ostrich in the park but having already been on safari this wasn't too disappointing. Might be worth noting that the bathroom has frosted glass doors with a gap so may be too intimate if traveling with a friend. Hope we get to go back one day.
“Great place to lay-over”
Conveniently located between the airport and downtown this is a great hotel to lay-over when travelling through Nairobi. Good service, clean and comfortable rooms, complimentary wi-fi all make it a good value Hotel. All thi,s and the possibility of seeing some wildlife in the Nairobi Reserve which the Hotel looks out on to.

The hotel is new and beautifully presented, it captures the spirit of Kenya with a cosmopolitan feel. Service was efficient and friendly at very level. Rooms are attractively furnished and very comfortable. It's worth asking for an even number room as they overlook the Nairobi National Park. We booked one night because we had an early morning flight from Nairobi Airport. Hotel shuttle was $50 for 5 people and 10 minutes drive to the airport. Breakfast is served 24 hours and was included in the room price, it's worth making time for this as Nairobi Airport has no cafe facilities. The hotel was everything you would expect from it's 5 star rating. Highly recommended.
“Very impressive”
I needed a hotel close to the airport and this was about 15 mins by taxi away. All staff were friendly and courteous, and the restaurant is top quality. Very comfortable room as well.

“Great end to our holiday”
We had our last night in the Ole Sereni and were very pleased with our stay. We were conveniently located close to the airport and that was a plus since our adult children were heading out for a midnight flight and were able to spend a few hours with us enjoying the hotel's bar, internet, gift shop and wonderful food before their departure. We were ending a safari holiday in Kenya and Tanzania and arrived in Nairobi that afternoon. Great place to start or end your stay with it's location to the airport. The hotel is new, the staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms were a bit small, but fit our needs.
“Great stopover location”
Very convenient for Nairobi airport but not close to the city centre if this is what you want. The hotel is very secure (it is the former US embassy) and the bar and restaurant overlook Nairobi National Park so you have great views in that direction. The layout of the hotel is unusual and it is nice to see something different. Staff are very friendly, security is taken seriously and the service is top class. My only downsides on this hotel are: the room that we had was pretty small and I wouln't want to stay in it for a week; the location is not great if you want easy access to the city - we didn't, we wanted convenience for the airport and there isn't anything better to my mind.
