The two new hired employees were awesome, the manager not so much. She should have been more accommodating to them being it was one of the employees second day. She seemed rushed and like she didn’t want to be on the front assisting patrons. Not professional at all. She made no eye contact and kept her head down and as soon as she gave instructions she disappeared. Bad service from a manager

Hotel property was okay… for the price you pay.Very reasonable for 6 nights. Ocean front room did not disappoint, view at night and morning were spectacular. All and all we enjoyed our stay very much.

The outside pool and beach area was great. The indoor pool was out of service the whole time. My wife and kid didn’t feel safe going out the room at night because the hallway was so dark and it wasn’t safe for them

I apologize but the indoor pool and indoor hot tub is closed for renovations. We hope to have these open by the summertime. Our outdoor hot tub, outdoor pool and outdoor lazy rivers are heated and open. We hope you were able to enjoy these during your stay

Upon my arrival the property manager was conducting the audit and showed no empathy for my family and I having to wait until she was finished to be able to check us in. Initial room was dirty (took pictures). Upgrade was better, but we will be not be returning to the property again.

Wasn’t anything like the pictures. We got told we had a room in the “tower” green building. We found drywall screws in the pullout couch. The carpet turned my son’s legs black just from crawling on them for a few minutes. Parking was minimal. Couch was dirty. And barely had room to pull the bed in couch out. Was not happy at all with the room. Definitely won’t be staying here again.

Presently we are doing some updates which have caused us to limit some parking areas for safety. We anticipate two additional levels of parking to be reopened when the indoor pool worked is completed.

Disappointed the indoor pool was closed. Gift shop was not open during our stay either. Game room had very few games in it for kids to play. TV had lines thru it so was hard to enjoy watching TV. Didn't have any toiletries in the bathroom (shampoo conditioner soap)

We stayed at carolina dunes and Property is well kept and very clean, we met some friends there and decided to stay an extra day, switching rooms and it couldn't have been any smoother. Shannon at check in is amazing and should be praised for her customer service!

My microwave in my room was rusted out. I love it how maintenance brought me another one. My door was messed up very hard to close but he worked on it to make it a little better. Thanks My patio cushion was ripped.they kept saying we gonna check to see if we can find you one, that never happen. TV in front room didn’t work . I love the way the staff. assured me that things will be taken care of.They really was great in that , I saw two roach bugs. But it was an okay stay.

We ordered a king ocean view suite and when we arrived to check in they gave us our key and directed us to a building that was not ocean front. The room was old, dated and smelled so bad. It had 2 queens and a pull-out couch. Not anything like the pictures online. The balcony was so small you couldn't sit on it and it had a regular door not a slider. The view was far from ocean view!! We saw palm trees and little to no ocean. Will not rent from again.

Not all unit types are located in the main building several types are located in the various locations such as St. Clements, Caravelle Towers, Carolina Dunes or St. Johns Inn. which are within the area. Each unit on the website notes its location.

Im very desapointed with this trip. I make a reservation for a ocean view king size bed in a beutiful area and room, When we arrive they send me to a building beging with a very small room, nothing like the pictures, the hotel charge me a $200 extra deposit, and parking, I call the front desk and they say. NOT OUR PROBLEM call expidia. So we have to stay there. Very very disappointed and a false advertasing.

Great stay friendly staff. I gave a 4 star because my car was hit and there are no cameras in the overflow garage other than at the ramp on the first floor from what I was told so no way to know who hit my car leaving me with the bill!!!! My insurance is high enough due to the type of car I have it’s not cheap!!! So I chose to pay for it out of pocket… get cameras what if someone is robbed or killed! Ok other than that it was a amazing experience. I do want to apologize if I got a attitude with the gentleman at the front desk my challenger is my baby and finding out there was no camera I wasn’t happy. There was one specific employee who was housekeeping he was from Jamaica I didn’t get his name extremely polite and kind. The lady who checked me in was also polite. The room was great and there’s plenty to do. Very nice view of the ocean. We extended our stay and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. Thank you. We will return with cameras installed in the car to supervise it .

I booked this hotel bacause the room was just wht i need. After booking i read reviews and quickly tried to cancel. They would let me cancell w/o refunding my money so i stay. I was ready for anything, i came well prepared, candles, extra sheets, bug spray etc. I did see 1 bug but im not petty. The beds where soft but very uncomfortable like they didnt have a bedbox under it. The pull out couch was so horrible i went and brought a air mattress for my 2yr old. Overall it was cool, just steps to ocean and awesome view..oh and the ice machine was not working, had to buy some. Overall i give it 7.5 out of 10...

Extended stay at the last minute
We had just checked out of the Carolina Dunes next door. There to celebrate my dd’s 7th bday. While on our way to breakfast, she admitted that she wanted to stay another day and so, I quickly booked the Caravelle, located just next door to our Luxury Oceanfront condo. It was soo perfect and convenient. I truly appreciate them having the availability for the one night because my dd REALLY enjoyed herself

The room was amazing, ocean front, but upon checking in we left and ate after coming back our key wouldnt work. A security guard ended up drilling a whole through the door to get us back in our room. Bathroom needed more attention lots of black mold, toilet had urine around bottom of base, and on the seat.

Unit is very old and need urgent renovation! It was somewhat clean but the sofa, carpet and especially mattress need urgent replacement, for the money you can find better and newer accommodations elsewhere.

Do not stay there.. No room service , 2 tv remote neither work.. Hidden fees $10 a day to park at hotel because we book from expedia nothing in fine print says that. AC unit leaks in the room.. No ice machine.. restaurant is not operational.. All hotel extra closing hours early.lots more wrong with place.…Caravelle use to be a decent place just a wreck now

The room was ok, mostly clean, ac and tv worked, but....... the property in general was just dirty. It started with the constant septic odor seeping up thru the corridors and parking deck entrance. Even smelt it in the pool area a few times. This hotel needs a lot of renovation in the common areas and I mean a lot. The rates are not exactly cheap and expected more. There are so many areas that need painting and reworked due to age as much as anything. Our room door got stuck wide open the last night and this was after not being able to shut it all the way each night without slamming the hell out of it. One of the elevators was broken most of our stay and ended up using the stairs. Even the elevators were old and dirty and I didn't want to use them anyway. I'd pay the extra money to stay in a nicer place. The property is being managed in the cheapest way possible and it shows...... but that pretty much describes Myrtle Beach anyway.
