Nice hotel near train station and parking

Posted 7-Apr-2014
It's a nice hotel, especially if you are going to be somewhere else in Munich most of the day/night. The location probably doesn't get that much better for our price (88 per night for a double room) as its only a 5 minute walk from the main train station (hauptbahnhof) and a parking garage is literally right across the street.

Very poor value for money

Posted 4-Feb-2014
I booked a double room for one night to attend a trade fair. The double bed had one very small, very thin duvet and one pillow. I asked for another duvet, I was given a second very small, very thin duvet. These were too short and too narrow and did not cover me properly during the night. In the early hours of the morning, I woke feeling very nauseous. I could smell cigarette smoke which was making me want to vomit. At first I thought someone in an adjacent room was smoking, but then I thought it might have been coming from the curtains and other upholstery that were close to the radiator. The room had a mini-kitchen with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils suitable for two people. There was a kettle and a cafetiere. Often hotels charging similar, expensive, rates will put sachets of coffee and tea, milk and sugar in the room, here there was nothing. It is unreasonable to expect a foreign guest staying one night to go to the supermarket and buy a jar of coffee or tea, so that they can have an evening or early morning cup. So, in the evening I ordered a coffee from room service which arrived in a paper cup and tasted terrible, and in the morning I had nothing. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Close to the main train station

Posted 27-Jan-2014
The staff were friendly and helpful. The double room was comfortable for two people and the shower was excellent. The lift was a good size. Location was easy to get to from the main station, less than a 5 minute walk. Marienplatz is 2 stops away on the subway. Aldi and a supermarket and bakery are all just around the corner. Very little traffic outside at night. Got good nights sleep. Didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on that. The laundry in the basement was a challenge. Would be happy to stay there again.

Good if you have nowhere else to go

Posted 21-Jan-2014
Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: Pillow was tiny\thin, bedding was too small for bed. Shower was ultra small
Not impressed. Tiny pillow (only got one and it was a rolled up sheet in a pillow case), double size comforter on a queen bed. Tiny shower. Isolated from everything around. Old building. Need some serious customer-first touches in the room. I will not stay in a hotel which goes out of their way to try and prevent a second person from coming into the room at the expense of the comfort of a single guest traveling alone. I booked a room with a big bed and expected a big comforter. I booked a big room expecting at least two pillows, or one that was more than 2 inches thick. I will not return.

Christmas Closure of Hotel

Posted 6-Jan-2014
Pros: Central location to tourist attractions and facilities
Cons: Notification of changes to the normal services provided
Location: About 300 metres from Munich Central Rail Station, Tourist buses, Tourist Services, General Bus services, Tram Services and shopping areas
Without any prior notice by Hotel Management/Staff the hotel was closed from 24/12/13 to 26/12/13 inclusive. Only observed a notice attached to the door of the entrance and reception area advising of this closure on 24/12 13. The restaurant was also closed during that time and also on 01/01/14. There was no hotel representative present during this period and emergency phone number were provided. No room servicing was provided during this period. When the hotel was open the staff were helpful and services provided were satisfactory. The location of the hotel to the city centre and points of interest was the main attraction as most could be visited by walking.

Good Location.

Posted 5-Jan-2014
Pros: Convenience to train station.
Cons: Hotel needs to paint the halls and room doors.
This hotel is conveniently located near the train station. The rooms were fine but the hallways look really rundown. The wifi was so bad we would end up sitting in the hallway to use it.

Convenient for a short stay in Munich

Posted 30-Dec-2013
Overall, this hotel is good value for money. The location is excellent, and it's easy enough to find when you emerge from the U- or S- Bahn at the main station. Getting into the center of Munich (and back) is also very straightforward. That said, the area surrounding the station is packed with hotels, the majority of which offer entrances, lobbies, and elevators that are far more plush that the Vi Vada's rather basic facilities. One point to note, maybe, is that the reception desk closes between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Still, my room was fine, and there was very little hotel noise.

Great location for visiting Munich

Posted 30-Dec-2013
Pros: Great location, friendly staff.
Cons: A double room should mean a double bed!
The Vi Vadi is situated a short 5 minute walk from Munich Hautbahnhof (the central station in Munich) which feeds the main S-bahn (train) and U-bahn (underground) connections, as well as a number of tram stops. It's therefore perfectly placed to get around and see the sights in Munich. The hotel was clean and the staff were very welcoming. We managed to get a VIP Access booking which gave us a room upgrade and free minibar access which was very much appreciated! Breakfast is available in the restaurant next door at a reasonable €10 per person and offers a limited hot buffet with mainly continental dishes. The room was very clean although the mattresses a bit firm for my liking - also we booked a double room which transpired to be two single beds (and single duvets!) pushed together.
