“Great hotel”
This hotel is only 3 stops on the U-Bahn from Karsplatz (the center of town). The entrance to the station is right in front of the hotel. How much more convenience do you want? To get to the hotel from Hauptbanhauf, take any S-Bahn train to Karsplatz. Then take the U4 or U5 toward Laimer. Get off on the Heimerplatz and you're there!
“Good Option”
Close to the center and near the subway. Good option to stay
“Club Floor is super”
This Westpark is well worth the money, for reasons that are not immediately obvious. First, its location on top of a U-Bahn station for two main lines can't be beat; with a day pass, you can get anywhere easily on the frequent, impressively efficient subway line (take either train to the Odeonsplatz station for excellent access to the Marienplatz area; take either train to the Hauptbahnhof and transfer to the #18 to the Deutsches Museum). The City's website makes public transport a breeze. The U-Bahn makes it easy to come back to the hotel and drop off purchases as the day goes on or to take a quick nap or a soak in the hot tub on the 5th floor. Second, paying the extra fare for the Club floor can save you plenty. We ate breakfast there every day, would have a big lunch in town, and then grazed back at the Club over complimentary wine and beer at the end of the day. Our kids loved it because they could eat or go on the internet for free as they wished. (Don't bother with the inhouse restaurant, which is overpriced and uninteresting). Third, there are some pleasant walks from the hotel, off the tourist track; on the other side of the railroad tracks are delightful individual gardens (in their hundreds if not thousands) that you can walk through when you need a break from the city. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the Club rooms are quite nice. Note that there aren't any exercise facilities on site, but who cares? Hiking the Alps is an easy hour away by train
“Very nice hotel”
We wer greeted by a very friendly front desk person who spoke English. We dined in the restaurant; the food was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.
“Beautiful, quiet, perfect during Oktoberfest”
Mieko S from San Diego said it best - a wonderful hotel, extremely friendly staff. Beds not the most comfortable, but didn't go to Munich to sleep all the time! Would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers, A++++!
“Short Stay”
We booked 2 rooms, where the other party specifically requested a 1up floor - but this was not honoured or acknowledged at check-in. The room we were allocated was on the side of the underground which also had an overground station which ran all nite - this kept me awake and I needed to use earplugs. This is the only reason I would not be recommending it. The hotel itself is immaculate, the staff were very welcoming and the room was top class. T
“Great Location!”
We loved this hotel and it's location right above the U-Bahn/S-station. Once we figured out the best of the 6 exits to use (elevator or back stairs) we could get anywhere in the city in minutes! It was great for Oktoberfest as it was just two stops away on the same U-bahn line - but in the opposite direction of most of the crowds. The Oktoberfest grounds are also just a short walk away. While the hotel food was expensive, there were also 3 bakeries within a block of the hotel for great pastries and coffee, and a supermarket. Just across the street there was a line of restaurants, in just the first block there was sushi, italian, and a pub-looking place. The lobby was beautiful, and they have 4 public computers and free wireless access in the lobby. They limit you to 45 minutes per session by logging you out, but you can just log back in. Our room on the 6th floor could have used some new furniture, but it was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was beautiful with lots of space due to a shelf behind the sink and looked recently redone. There was good closet space, drawers, and a strange desk/luggage holder that we used to hold clothes. Like many beds in Germany we had two twin mattresses pushed together. There was also a mini-bar refrigerator that we used for leftovers and bought our own beer at the supermarket. We were looking for a quiet, comfortable, and convenient hotel and this one was perfect!
“A nice stay in Munich”
I found this hotel to be very nice and convenient. Although it is not in the city center, it is extremely easy to get to all the action on the U-Ban. There is a station just steps away from the hotel. The train ride is only about 7 - 8 minutes and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a train. The staff members were very helpful and all spoke English. Our room was quite nice and had a renovated marble bathroom and a city view. The hotel offers a nice buffet style breakfast. And although we did not spend much time in the lobby bar it was pretty busy in the late afternoons. Most travelers seemed to be of the business variety, not too many tourists, although that could have been due to the season (late March). Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who does not mind not being in the city center and is looking to spend a little less money on accommodations without sacrificing service.
“great hotel, great value”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Arabella Sheraton. The hotel is literally next to an U-Bahn station and not far from the city center; the beds were very comfortable; and the bathroom was wonderful. We'd definitely stay there again.
