Clean and centrally located but not in a nice area
It’s an ok hotel, clean, well kept and in a central location. All works well but in my opinion is NOT a 4 star hotel, it’s a 3 start at most. Basic services, amenities, and just standard accommodation. Although centrally located the street where it is, it’s not nice, full of table dance and night bars (not the nice ones) and in general not a friendly vibe (on the block, not the hotel). If you are looking for a decent, clean hotel to spend the night, it’s ok but if you prefer more comfort, a nicer zone, better facilities and a family-friendly area, you will be better somewhere else.

A very pleasant stay at the Schiller 5 hotel. The location is extremely convenient for the central Hauptbahnhof station. Trains from the airport stop here and it was no more than 5-10 mins walk away. Great location for a short stay. The area around the hotel was just ok. There was lots of building going on which means it isn’t the most peaceful of settings, although peace and quiet can’t be expected in a city centre. The rooms were a generous size. We had a kitchenette in our room. No milk was provided, although tea and Nespresso coffee pods were provided. The breakfast was good. Good choice of pastries and some hot options including scrambled eggs snd sausages. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Glad I found this and booked based on other reviews. This hotel was very modern, clean, quiet, with friendly staff - including the owner who made his rounds during their truly well-done breakfast. I had a hard time getting out of bed because it was so comfortable and the shower/bath was so nice. An easy walk to the trains and Oktoberfest.

Great location, good size room
Great friendly service. Convenient location, close to train station and walkable to the old town. The hotel is on a street with strip clubs but we didn’t feel unsafe. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommended.

The hotel was well located; close to the central train station and close to the city centre. The room was very clean and spacious and has a small area for light cooking. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were excellent and very friendly.

Great location, being in between old town and the train station. Perfect if you plan on taking a any day trips while staying in Munich. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Variety of restaurants in the area if you get tired of the old town's German-centric cuisine options.

Delightful hotel in excellent location
Lovely hotel. Excellent location to main train station and to getting around Munich. Room was well set out, clean and comfortable. A few little complimentary treats in the minibar was a nice touch. The breakfast was excellent, wide selection of pastries, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, meats and cheeses with a few hot choices too, including bacon and eggs. Friendly staff throughout the hotel and very willing to store luggage safely before check in and after check out.

Absolute gem
The Schiller5 hotel is an absolute gem. In spite of being right in the centre of Munich, it is lovely and quiet in the hotel. Rooms are beautifully clean, very comfortable and well appointed, with kettle and fridge. The breakfast is delicious. Staff give a warm, friendly welcome. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to acquaintances.

You Should Definitely Stay with Schiller5
Courteous and friendly reception staff that really are attentive to guests having a great stay. Additionally, having staff that spoke English was appreciated—especially since it seems that many locals working in hospitality in Munich either only speak German or are only willing to speak English when they become frustrated with guests. Finally, having a mini bar that offers apple juice and cola along with the standard bottled water for free was an extra perk.

More than we expected—large room by European standards, clean, great service from staff, lovely breakfast. The area around the train station is a migrant working class area. I like to get into the realism of a city but some may prefer differently. The area is great for middle eastern food.

Small hotel next to the train station
Nice and friendly hospitality. The owner came to greet the guests at breakfast ( which was very good). Small family hotel next to the train station, so easy to get to and close to the center, but the area is not so nice especially at night.

This hotel feels like a home away from home. It‘s modern without sacrificing personal touches. The room was clean and the breakfast delicious. We met the owner during breakfast one morning and found him to be a delightfully charming guy.

quiet comfort in a convenient location
we loved our stay at Schiller5, i booked it due to it's proximity to the train station but was not expecting the hotel to be so quiet and comfortable given it's location - it's nestled in a small laneway off the main street, the room was large, bed was great, even had a minibar and kitchenette which we were not expecting. the shower had excellent water pressure as well. we particularly were impressed by the quantity and quality of the breakfast on offer! thankyou to the staff for making my first visit to germany a comfortable and pleasant experience

The great selling point in this well appointed hotel is the kitchen facilities in the room; fridge, microwave and 2 electric rings. It is well located a few minutes walk from the Hbf. From experience I used the local Rewe to buy my food and soft drinks. If I return to Munich I would certainly stay in the Schiller5 Hotel again.

Incredible place! Great location within walking distance to all the trains. Staff was fantastic. 5 star service all the way. We stayed in the Williem Tell Suite and it was very spacious and comfortable

This is an extremely comfortable hotel; my only negative is that the water temperature in the shower fluctuated more than it should have. The hotel is very close to the central station, tucked into a private ally which kept street noise to a minimum. The neighborhood is a bit seedy but that is often the case with hotels close to a train station in Europe; nevertheless, we felt perfectly safe. Our room was large, with good closet space, fast WiFi and well thought out. The bathroom however was small. The bed was comfortable. The staff, friendly and helpful and the breakfast exceptionally good, with fresh squeezed orange juice. The question to ask - would you stay at Schiller5 again? My answer is yes - as it is a very comfortable hotel and represents good value

Great Hotel By the Hauptbahnhof
Stayed in a comfort room with a small 'kitchen area' which was exactly as described when booking. The hotel is relatively new so in good condition. Staff were helpful and I appreciated extra touches such as welcome chocolate, complimentary vanity set and shower cap. Missed that there was no coffee pod machine. My main criticism was the location of plates and blows and the pot and frypan stored cupboards impossible to safely access unless one is around 1.8 metre tall There was no stool or stepladder provided. I used the desk chair to climb up to get a bowl for my breakfast. Highly unsafe! Also there should be instruction provided for use of induction hot plate. Also no tea towel provided and no basic cooking utensil such a a sharp knife. The hotel is conveniently located, a short walk from main train station and U and S Bahn. The immediate surrounding area has little to offer but is not unsafe. It is a 10 - 15 min walk into the old town. There are some good cafes and a few restaurants further down Schiller St towards Sendlinger Tor worth a visit.
