Hotel Hauser is a clean but relatively basic hotel near the University... with great proximity to the English Garden. If you're looking for a luxury experience, this isn't the place for you. A few things to know: 1. It's about a 20 minute walk to the center of old town Munich (Hofbrauhaus, Marienplatz, etc.). 2. It's in an old townhouse so even the reception area is up a flight of stairs -- notable if you have a lot of heavy bags. They do have an elevator but it's incredibly tiny. 3. It's in the University area so there are students everywhere and a bar/cafe next door but we never heard any noise and it was never rowdy in any way. 4. Your room will be small, basic and clean. We had a "queen" bed that was two twin mattresses pushed together, each with our own separate set of twin blankets. 5. The bathroom is typical European... meaning it works just fine but will be considered small by American standards, especially the shower. 6. The continental breakfast has only cold items, but everything was fresh. 7. The location is ideal for walking into the English Garden... you can even rent bikes near the entrance (highly recommended). 8. The staff we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. 9. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again just because climbing three flights of stairs after walking around Munich all day got to be a little tiresome, but that's not the fault of the hotel. If you're looking for basic accommodations near the Garden, this will work.
