“Holiday Inn Munich City Center - 7/2011”

This is a little gem of a hotel, sitting right on top of Rosenheimer Platz Subway station and only 2 stops to Marienplatz, it's very centrally located. Underground shopping center includes a "Hit" supermarket for picnic fixings as well as a "Mueller" pastry shop for cheap and delicious breakfast rolls and coffee. "Bella Italia" is at the other end of the street on the other side of the subway station - fabulous pizzas. Take any of the trams from in front of Bella Italia up the hill (south) to the Paulaner brewery biergarten ("Nockherberg"). The hotel also has a small bar that can be quite lively in the evening. We spent just about a week here, and it sure was nice to have something so centrally located while we did all of our sightseeing around town. The city side has a great view of downtown - really nice. The backside either looks out on the street or a garbage compaction station - really noisy!! Avoid these rooms. Only potential issue I see is that it seems for some reason this hotel seems to be really popular with the middle east crowd, so the place can be awash in burquas and veils. One or two wouldn't bother us, but guess we're pretty western so a crammed elevator of hidden faces could occasionally really freak us out. To each his own I guess, but sometimes it was a bit much for us. Otherwise great helpful bilingual staff and a great location with some nice views if you can get them warrants this a great place if you're spending time in Munich.

“A good location for sight seeing”

The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice although not huge. The hotel was however very busy, so there were often ques at the service desk.. The hotel food and drink were all nice but the breakfast at 21euros per person was far more expensive than in the rest of munich. The hotel staff all speak good English and were patient with us when we tried our our German. The swimming pool was sadly broken when we were there but we were allowed to use the stunning Victorials Volksbad opposite (the hotel refunded the cost of this). These baths are absolutely stunning and I would recommend them anyway. The English Garden, beer halls and museuems are all close by.

“Proximité, propreté”

Très bon séjour entre amis à Munich. L'hôtel est à 10 min à pied de Marienplatz, et de plus à 1min de la station de métro Rosenmayerplatz . La chambre est très propre et confortable. Belle piscine de plus. Je recommande.

“Hôtel proche du centre ville.”

Hôtel de grande qualité au calme et proche du centre ville à pied ou en transport. Proche des quais de l'Isar pour une ballade. Accés internet payant et cher dommage.

“Great hotel - but slow check in/out”

This hotel is great - located on the S-bahn with a direct, inside route from the west end of the Rosenheimer platz station to the front door (not open between midnight and 6am though). I'd have given this hotel a 5, had it not been for the extremely slow service for check in and check out. They seemed to know what they were doing, but took so long to do it that it was frustrating to wait so long in line for something so simple. Otherwise, hotel was great!

“Good location! Everything was great..except”

Everything was great at this hotel except one thing. Before coming to Germany i was concerned about how i was going to get around Munich, like the SBahn and taxi and etc. First of all I'm going to give you a couple of tips. Whatever you do dont take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, its about 60 euros! There is a train station right underneath the airport, if your lost go to the info desk mostly everyone speaks english so it will be fine. And when you buy a ticket, there are versions in english so you dont have to go looking everywhere and be afraid you bought the wrong ticket. I would recommend buying the 3 day ticket, its 19.80 euro which isnt bad and u can use it up too 3 people on it and go anywhere you want to in the city. Once you buy your ticket take the S8 line to Rosenheimerplatz, it takes you straight there so you dont have to make any stops and it takes about 35-40min. Also once you get off at Rosenheimerplatz, there will be 2 exits follow the exit with the large A, and there will be signs to the hotel(really simple). One thing to make sure of is, the hotel holds 50 dollars a day from your credit/debit card for like internet and other stuff like food. Make sure its 50 because they withheld 500 from us! We had to call visa and our banks in America to straighten everything out, it was such a hassle. But they compensated with free drinks. Other than that the hotel had a great location! It was so convenient, it was 2 stops from Marienplatz! Germany is great!
