From the staff, to the location, to the fantastic breakfast, everything was lovely. Staff was exceedingly helpful and pleasant through and through. The room was very nice. Only two small gripes were that there was a fan that came on in the bathroom every time you went in and stayed on for longer than I would have liked, but closing the door cancelled out the noise. Also the bed was two singles pushed next to each other... led to one banged elbow between the two of us. We paid to have a view facing the Eiger and it was well worth it. Absolutely breathtaking and great to wake up to every day. The hotel is right across from the train station which is convenient with luggage, which the hotel helped us with both ways. Only thing was that meant you are in for a little walk, 5-10 minutes, to get to the activities in town. The included breakfast buffet was outstanding and varied. Can't recommend this place highly enough and I hope to go back!
Stayed here for one night with family (2 adults, 1 teen). The hotel is clean, comfortable. Staff is friendly and breakfast was great! The village is idyllic and nice to wander about. Although pricey, it seemed compatible with other hotels nearby.
We went up the Schilthorn the day we arrived, which was a terrific experience. The day we left we went down to Lauterbrunnen and then up to Jungfrau - VERY PRICEY, but again, if the weather is good, an amazing experience.
The room had plenty of towels, shelf space in the bathroom, tissues. The wi-fi was easy.

This is an older property whose rooms are being renovated. We stayed in one of the older rooms (#12) that had a wonderful view of the Eiger and Monch. One issue is that we had a shared bathroom and it was noisy whenever anyone left their room at night to use the bathroom. The meals in the restaurant were good. The hotel is conveniently located beside the BLM train station.

The location of this hotel is incredible and this is what drew us toward it in the first place. Once there, we were greeted and cared for by the owners in such a warm and welcoming way. The room was perfect, the bathroom / shower was great, and the balcony worked out just right to experience the breathtaking views of the mountain and the valley below.

Thanks to fog at London City Airport, Swiss air delays at Heathrow & broken trains in Zurich. I had an adventure getting to Hotel Alpenruh. But it was worth the troubles. The staff are so friendly, kind & helpful. I felt like I was staying with friends, not just a guest. Murren is lovely if you are looking for a quiet sightseeing/walking break - as I wanted.
Hotel Alpenruh is located very close to the cable cars which taken you from the Lauterbrunnen valley up to the wonderful views from Birg & Piz Gloria. and they even offer breakfast at Piz Gloria. Which I never got to try - but there's always next time!
Make sure you get a room facing the mountains. the views at sunset are amazing!
