“Ugly exterior but good once inside.”
First impression was a cramped uninspired 1950s building, but once inside the rooms, staff and food were very good.
“Nice hotel in a great location”
We stayed on two seperate occasions on the way to and from Sweden, the first night we got rooms on the Third Floor, which as the illustrations show are very nice, modern and pretty impressive. On the way back we stayed on the Second Floor which were clearly still in need of refurbishment. They were ok, but it was dissapointing that they charged the same rate as the better rooms. On the whole though a very nice hotel, attentive staff, excellent facilities with great breakfasts!
“Hotel Mercure City Muenster : très satisfaisant”
Nous avons été très bien accueillis. La chambre était très agréable et très propre. Tout a été parfait y compris un accueil très tardif : 22 heures à l'heure de fermeture du restaurant. Le repas du soir fut excellent ainsi que le petit déjeuner.
“Very nice, well located hotel”
Very nice hotel right in the city centre. The room rate, including breakfast was very good, no more than I would expect to pay at a budget hotel.
“Straightforward, business hotel”
The Mercure in Munster is a firely straightfowrad, business hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable,and the service efficient. It is not the kind of hotel that is exciting and different, and the restaurant was a bit pricey, but it is good option for exploring Munster. Munster is the bicycle capital of Germany, so the company have decorated the corridor carpets with carpets featuring tyre tracks. OK, it distinguishes an otherwise formulaic hotel, but I'm not sure I would have done it myself!
“What you expect...”
Exactly what you expect from Mercure chain - good room, (but very small shower room) Comfortable, clean, and an excellent buffet breakfast. No air conditioning though, so rooms very warm when we stayed and heavy traffic outside in the morning meant having the windows open was a noisy option!
“Expensive Wi-Fi”
The staff were all very friendly, the hotel convenient and comfortable, if a little 'tired' but there are a couple of things to be aware of: in a standard room there are no tea/coffee making facilities, which seems a bit penny-pinching these days, and the use of their Wi-Fi connection is a rather eye-watering 9 euros for 24 hrs - we'd stayed in a Holiday Inn the previous night where internet access was free. Neither of these points is a major hiccup, more a minor irritation.
“Central Muenster Hotel”
This is a very well positioned hotel for visitors to Muenster. It is very close to the centre and reasonably well appointed, if somewhat lacking in character. (Notwithstanding the cheerful and helpful staff, somehow the hotel comes across as somewhat austere and "cold"). The public rooms are of a good standard and the inclusive breakfast well presented and interesting. However, the bedrooms in at least some parts of the hotel are getting a bit tired, and just a little grubby. If visiting with a car, some forethought is needed since the hotel underground car park is small and expensive, whilst local public parking has limited access in silent hours, (and to complicate matters some of the local one way streets are being dug up (March 2012)). Nevertheless, recommended as a good base to visit/do business in Muenster
“Not so great.”
Centrally located, but very noisy. The rooms have the charm of the 70's, that's probably the time they were renovated for the last time. The hotel garage is a nightmare, never seen something that small. Breakfast and staff were ok.
