With low ocupancy, dont use adjacent rooms due to through wall noise. Close parking was great. Very low ambient noise.

The Bruce is old and in need of some updates but it was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of car parking and it was quiet. The Bruce is situated next door to shops and restaurants for easy access. I would stay there again as it wasn’t expensive and if you just want a place to lay your head at night why pay through the nose, just stay at the Hotel Bruce County.

This hotel was well priced and very conveniently located. The staff were friendly and the room although basic was clean and tidy with all the basics you need. There are a variety of fast food places and god restaurants all only a hundred meters away. Can definately recommend this hotel. It is also conveniently located to the Waverley Private Hospital being only 1km away so could be accessed on foot.

The property was comfortable enough, but lacks maintenance required. The taps refused to to turn on because of worn tap washers and the vanity was badly broken and cracked even though it didn't leak it is not a good look. No dining facilities was also disappointing after a 4 hr drive

It was much more basic than photos suggested (queen room), down lights didn't work so dark even in day light, pool looked unswimmable, and had cigarette smell (previous guest fault not hotel). All of this would have been acceptable for a 3 rating but it had a rating above 4 so I was taken aback. It's a basic old school motor inn not a hotel. The staff were lovely and attended to me quickly. The place isn't terrible but my expectations were higher than warranted. I don't like leaving this sort of review but think it's necessary so others go in with more realistic expectations.

Pathetic service. When you book room for 3 people, you expect room that accommodates 3 people. They ask you to pay for the extra bed for third person. The guy in the reception did not speak properly, nor was he concerned about our protest. Not a service you expect in Australia. Do not come.

Good overnight stay.
We had a pretty good stay for one night to minimise travel to home (Cowes) while doing some shopping in Melbourne. While the original room that was allocated smelt of cigarettes, the manager reallocated us next door and that room was fine. No problems with the room and the motel is right next door to a shopping centre so very convenient. Would certainly stay again.

For the price it was fine. You shouldn’t expect it to be perfect as it’s very cheap. It’s very dated and a little shabby but the sheets and towels were lovely as too were the toiletries. There was also a microwave and plates etc which is great when you want to eat in the room. Very convenient location and parking. Two minutes walk to pinewood shopping centre which has a supermarket and plenty of good Asian dine in and take away places. The name put me off… Bruce County… sounds a bit creepy and I almost didn’t stay there because of that. I think you’d get a lot more guests if you changed the name to something simple like Mount Waverley Motel!

Property is pretty good in general terms. Did not like the idea of providing my card details for key deposit- we left early the following morning and, with no one on Reception, had to leave the keys in Room Doors and hope that they were safe until collection. Our rooms were certainly dated with carpet near threadbare, sofa lounge really stained and painting needing upgrading; however, bed was extremely comfortable and towels and linen great quality. Dining out was superb and really convenient for our overnight stopover.
