“Nice Getaway Spot”

I really enjoyed my stay at Villa Julia. The actual villa is kind of hard to find because it is far from the main roads of Pompei, but luckily I was visiting someone who lives in Pompei so we were able to find it without too much trouble. Word of caution: the owners disappear around noon or 1pm and don't return until later in the afternoon. Fortunately I had seen another review on the Internet that I warned me of this so I emailed the villa to let them know that I wouldn't be there until 1 or 2pm and they made arrangements to leave my keys for me in the mailbox so I could get in. Also, another warning, the owners speak little English. If you don't speak a lot of Italian, I would suggest communicating with them through email (maybe using a translator or a dictionary) to iron out the specifics, such as how you are paying, any special accommodations, etc., so you don't have to worry about trying to figure all that stuff out in person when you don't speak the same language. I read another review where the couple said that they weren't allowed to pay by credit card but that may have been a communication issue, as I was allowed to use my card to pay. But the villa is beautiful and the owners are very nice. Breakfast is included, but it is very light, as per Italian custom. My room came with one queen bed and a bunk bed and extra pillows and sheets. Wi-Fi is available, just ask for the password. I definitely recommend Villa Julia!
