“Sad to leave such lovely people.”
Hotel Forum was an excellent place to stay to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum. The staff were lovely really friendly and helpfull. The buffett breakfast was super and so varried it really catered for all tastes. Although right opposite the bustle of the enterance to Pompeii it was so quite in the hotel we thought we were well off the beaten track. All the staff from the cleaners to the reception staff were so polite. We have all said when we return it will be to Hotel Forum.
“Perfect Hotel Perfect Location”
Impeccable accommodations, warm and welcoming staff (all speaking excellent English), wonderful breakfast buffet. Just a very short walk to the entrance of the Pompeii ruins.
“Oasis aong the ruins”
Excellent, relaxing facility, where you can enjoy a glass of wine under the lemon arbor in a courtyard right off the main street of Pompei. Though much pedestrian and auto traffic runs in front of the hotel, in our room, it was quiet and pleasant. Good room size. Excellent breakfast. Free internet appreciated. Would gladly stay here again.
“THE place to stay in Pompeii”
Right by an entrance gate to the ruins, Hotel Forum is the ideal place to stay. We spent four nights there and could not fault it. The staff were happy and very helpful. They recommended an excellent and reasonably-priced restaurant quite close by, where we ate for three of the four nights we were there. They were also very informative about travel arrangements and a coach which picks up guests from outside the hotel and takes them to Vesuvius. The buffet breakfast was beautifully presented and more than adequate for the largest appetite. The room we were given was actually more like a suite, with a sitting room and bedroom and a double balcony. There were lemons and limes growing on our balcony and in the hotel garden and the hotel itself was clean, nicely decorated and very attractive. One slight quibble was the muzak which seemed to be playing all afternoon and into the evening from two speakers under the balcony, which might irritate some guests in that vicinity. I would recommend the hotel to anyone ploanning a visit to Pompeii.
“Excellent Hotel”
We were very satisfied with the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the Cathedral and also the Roman Ruins. We will be going back later in the year.
“Went the extra mile”
My daughter's suitcase did not arrive with our flight to Naples. The hotel staff made umpteen phone calls to assist us. They were extremely helpful in recommending restaurants - that were excellent - and ways to gets to the sights we were visiting. All in all, excellent. My daughter, an archeologist, is recomending the hotel (next to the excavations) to her colleagues who would visit the excavations in that area.
“Excellent base for visiting the sights around Pompeii.”
Excellent hotel, particulary convenient for visiting the ruins at Pompeii. Also the bus for Vesuvius leaves from just across the road. Friendly and helpful staff.
“Very good service and close to excavation”
The staff were very friendly and helpful - found us very expert guide and good recommendations on drivers, restaurants etc. And in January it was very reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast well supplied.
“Convenient and Friendly”
Very conveniently located to the 'Anfiteatro' entrance and both Pompeii train stations (but closest to the one on the Naples-Poggiomarino line), the hotel is set right in the heart of town amidst restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. The rooms were fine - nothing spectactular but clean and comfortable. All rooms look to have balconies; ours overlooked the mountains to the rear. The heating was a bit over-zealous, but as it's February we didn't complain in case we ended up freezing! Staff were very friendly and helpful. They fixed a tour for us to see Mt Vesuvius. Yes, you can go by bus yourself for less, but you still have to have a guide to get to the top, and as we were only there for two days we took the easy option. We'd originally booked the tour for the Saturday, and our guide turned up as promised, but said that as the weather was so bad (pouring rain and low cloud), we wouldn't see much and the summit was likely to be closed to visitors. So, he offered to re-book for the following morning. This worked really well. He was well informed, very accommodating and I can't speak highly enough of him. Breakfast was fine - mostly continental fare, but nice fresh warm croissants and also lovely hot Eggs Florentine (if you get down early enough) and frankfurters. Overall a great stay.
“Excellent Place”
It is right now the antiteatro gate to Pompei, if coming into Pompei by the Circumvesuvania it is not the closest, but right on the doorstep nonetheless. The service was excellent, the room was large and clean, and the garden bar/restaurant was very nice, along with excellent food and great prices. If ever in Pompei again I will be staying at the Hotel Forum.
