My girlfriend and I decided to take a vacation in our own town and picked this hotel because we had eaten at several restaurants located next to it and with the amazing view of the shrimp boats on Shem Creek we couldn't resist. We only had one issue with the room which was the garden tub was either dirty or stained from years of use and the air conditioner was located on the wall above the bed and it was a bit loud. Other than that the room was very clean and well kept and our balcony was on the creek-side so it offered an amazing view of Shem Creek. For those of you that have never been to the area, the hotel is located within walking distance of several restraunts; RB's, Waters Edge, Vickery's, Table Tavern and Red's. I have personally been to Vickery's and Waters Edge and both are great restaurants.
The pool is also located on the creek side and it was very clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend this hotel as we are planning to stay there again this year!
Started with having to wait until 6:00pm for our check in after a long road trip. When we finally did get room, found big stain on carpet and stain on some towels, handprints on glass. Not top shelf. Hotel staff did try to ease our wait with warm cookies & fruit basket. Construction next door, some noise. Location great, just needs some love and care to make hotel better.
We came to Charleston, SC, for vacation/anniversary. We were very pleased with our accommodations. There is so much to do here that we extended our stay in order to take more in. We actually checked out and right back in to our same room. The USS Yorktown, H. L. Hunley, City Market, Carriage rides, Ft. Sumter. LOTS of history and patriotism here, great little shops, awesome restaurants. We are looking at the possibility of coming again. It's that good.
