“Beautiful Location, Shockingly Poor Service”

This hotel is beautifully situated with reasonably appointed rooms. Overall, the staff is courteous. However, one tongue ringed desk clerk hearled a number of verbal insults at me and I had to check out early because the music from the bar was so loud I couldn't sleep. I wasn't offered another room even though there were only 12 cars in the lot when I left at 2 am on Saturday (I wasn't able to fall asleep until 3 on Friday due to the noise).

It's about 40 miles from the strip. Afordable!

“Mt Charleston”

I am a frequent visitor to Las Vegas and had wanted to drive up to Mt Charleston for some time, so when the rates came out low on Expedia I though that i would give the hotel there a try. The location is very unusual - 6,000ft but just outside Las Vegas gave us snow in March. The architecture is quite impressive also - an old west style wooden structure. However, the service was miserable - I was told when I checked in that the interent service had been down for weeks ("the manager thinks it is something to do with the weather"). I had to wait endlessly to be served at breakfast; the toilet would not flush properly and (worse of all) they did not clean my room despite spending two nights there. My recomendadation? Drive up there during the day to take a look at the view, but stay overnight in Las Vegas.

“Great Retreat”

The view from the third floor room was wonderful. I watched the sun rise over the canyon covered with snow. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint with the room was the power outlets, the plugs would not stay in. My stay was short so did not have time to try other amentities, but would go back.

“Wonderful Place, Sour & Deceptive Staff”

Clean, comfortable, nice view from windows overlooking mountains with no other buildings to be seen for miles. The manager, new guy , barista lady and cleaning crew are very kind, listen well &offer good customer service. Rest of the staff are sour pusses!! Over the several nights we were there we spent a bit of time in the lobby by their fire... One woman we didn't once see smile, the bartender ignored us &when she did give us attention, gave a dirty look &attitude when we asked for matches.... um... there's a guy right next to her smoking, &a cigarette vending machine 10 feet away but no matches anywhere?! Fine, so there's no matches, but what's with the bad attitude? We called the hotel ahead of time to check that they have internet as we need it for business &we wanted to stay several nights. We get there (long drive up the mountains) to find out internet hasn't been working for 4 days. One of the workers tells us that they have internet but the rooms don't because it's on a different system &another worker tells us that it doesn't work for the whole hotel. It wouldn't bother me if their works &the rest of the hotel doesn't but we don't like being lied to. They have a sauna and steam room, I used the steam rooms many times and it's fantastic. The lobby has large couches surrounding a fatty fireplace. Ample outside parking and a large restaurant. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy and overall we were happy with our stay and would go back.

The hotel was beautiful but the service was poor, from the lady who checked us in to the servers in the restaurant. They could definitely work on their hospitality but it wasn't terrible. The location was about 30 mins away from Vegas but it wasn't a bad drive at all. Its way up in the mountains though so we woke up to snow the next morning and that was kind of nice.

“Quick getaway”

The room was on the bottom floor. With this hotel being up on Mt. Charleston, I wanted to have a nice view of the mountains. Instead we had a view of the pond and the parking lot. The room was very cramped. Construction going on in the room next to us or very close to us.
