Beautiful building and room very near everything. Terraza and on site restaurant are big pluses. Restaurant has great views of the city and lake, and the coffee and food are excellent. I used the room for remote work for a few days and had zero issues with Wi-Fi, even for video conferencing.

I like the authenticity about the hotel, in keeping with the surrounding culture. I did not like that there was no parking left available in their parking structure, we had to park outside.

Dungeon style room
The front desk didn’t have our two rooms because they overbooked. One room was exactly like the photos online. Beautiful and comfortable, clean, spacious, with windows, curtains, a beautiful armoire, coffee maker, etc. The other was literally a dungeon in a basement with a lock on the front door and a toilet with no door located right next to the front door (as photos show). When we complained since the two rooms cost the same, the staff became confrontational and wanted us to pay double in order to move us to a similar room than the original reservation showed. They blamed hotels.com arguing they are the ones who assign the rooms. By then we were just laughing. Very unprofessional.

This is a wonderful historic property. There are many twists and turns to the hotel that give it a unique and distictive atmosphere. Our room was spacious and well equiped. It was quiet and secluded. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. We would definitely choose this hotel next time we visit Patzcuaro.

Incredible stay, incredible view
They were incredibly accommodating and showed us our room. The restaurant closed pretty early but was still able to stay open for my girlfriend and I. Nothing but great things to say about this place.

We booked this room through hotels.com. Despite the hotel being empty they gave of a really small room that was not so comfortable. The shower was really small and it took at least 10 minutes to get hot water. But the staff was super nice. In this situation we got what we paid for; it was not high value.

Well, they just need to know how to let the guests know what their limitations are. The place was freezing, and they don't read any messages you send them on Orbitz, even the phone call to them, was not relayed to the management/reservations staff. All got resolved, and we loved the location, but make sure all those things a "tourist" is going to need, is provided. Be pro-active as to what is and isn't working (facillities, like the heaters, etc.).

The Ancient Made Newly Grand in Patzcuaro
This ancient building oozes charm, and has been filled with the graceful touches the modern traveller expects and needs. I enjoyed the quiet and the space of Room 6, and was particularly grateful to have been provided an electric heater: a necessary touch considering Patzcuaro's altitude and nighttime temperature. In room coffee maker and quality toiletries made a difference too.

A wonderful place to stay.
This is a wonderful place, one of those rare hotels where you enter a room and the ambiance swirls about you and says, “I must stay here”. Extensive and tasteful renovations in a four hundred year old building, with extremely high quality workmanship that left me agog. The quality found here is rare in Mexico. Hot water that circulates, so you open the tap and it is hot! Rare in buildings with 24 inch thick walls and miles from the water heaters, notice I said heaters, not a heater, and the water heaters are big industrial boilers ensuring that there is enough water to fill that big, solid copper soaker tub! Lots of lovely thick towels, comfortable beds with copious duvets and quality linens. Pillows that are pillows, not soft rocks, and a lovely staff. This place is worth every peso. Suggestions...a wifi repeater in every room would help, and, put a chrome cast device on the back of every tv for those of us who would rather not watch tv in Spanish. Weak, I know we are weak!

This hotel is in an old building and it is very simple but yet very elegant because the simplicity that kept the building as in the old time but with a very fresh touch of maintenance is what make this hotel of a recommendation . we had a very nice bedroom with the fireplace that worked extremely well and the wood was supply every day it made a very romantic atmosphere .the rooms are not so big and it is not very well equipped to receive big luggage unfortunately . The only bad side is that it gives directly on the street and it can be very noisy with the car ,but to avoid that I put my earplug but in the middle of the night it is pure quietness on the street. Patzcuaro is a very nice lovely village and RESTAURANT are of good taste !

It could’ve been the perfect stay if they would take care of small details. Something as simple as keeping a room clean and changing dirty bed sheets makes the diference between the perfect stay ans just ok. So shame as the hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect.

Posada Basilica Patzcuaro's little treasure
This is a perfect little hotel with friendly staff. It is modest but entirely.appropriaye for the price. The restaurant has great views and the food is amazing! Will definitely be back!!!! If you don't want to stay here at least try the restaurant!!!

Pick this place to stay!
Julietta is amazing and speaks English if you’re Spanish challenged. Right across the street from the church, art gallery, short walk to Centro and favorite restaurant La Surtidora.
