A good spa option helpful on a rainy day. Food and dining overall not great. Luckily plenty of restaurants around.

Hotel in a great location, short walk into Carnac for restaurants or beach. Rooms are a little small, bit of a squeeze getting round the bottom of the bed! Nice bathroom with great shower.

It was fine for a short stay.
Room an adequate size - clean and comfortable with newly refitted bathroom, location fairly good, staff helpful. The hotel is quite airy - nicer-looking from the inside than it appears in the outside. Free parking on site is very handy. The saltwater swimming pool "complex" is tired looking and shonky and a slightly weird experience. The breakfast is overpriced. We didn't take any treatments, as they were full up - book them in advance if you are visiting at peak times like us. It was all fine, but you kind of understand why it is available when everywhere else is booked up.

Carnac hotel and spa stay
A really first class experience. The location on the edge of Carnac plage with its bars, restaurants and fabulous beach only a 5 minute walk away is great. All the Brittany attractions within easy motoring distance. Room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. W C is separate from the bathroom. Alleluia! The heated pool and spa was great though somewhat busy on a summer weekend. The breakfast experience is just lovely as you overlook the salt lakes. Can’t recommend too highly.

A relaxing hotel for a nice relaxing short break.
Unfortunately at the moment there are a lot of road alterations going on along the roads near the hotel. It does not cause a problem with noise but it is quite difficult to get along the seafront with a car. You can walk along. The hotel was very quiet and the surroundings are peaceful. There is a terrace to sit and eat or have a drink as well a nice breakfast room/dining room which looks out over the salines(salt ponds). The hotel is in tow buildings but both are really nice. The rooms is the shorter building have showers and the taller building rooms have a bath with a shower over. The rooms are really clean and there is a nice smelling shower gel and hand wash container in the bathroom. The rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and water is provided, both still and sparkling on arrival in the fridge. In the bedroom bathrobes are provided for guest to use going to and from the spa area and swimming pool, flipflops or thongs are available from reception. The swimming pool is heated seawater and around the edge are jets of varying heights that pummel you in various parts of your body. There are beds to lie or sit on around the indoor pool are and outside on the sunterrace. There is a solarium with reclining beds as well for cooler days. There is a wide choice of restaurants in Carnac Plage itself which is a few minutes walk away. A tourist train near the entrance to the hotel takes people around the area to visit the megalithes and La trinite sur mer to watch the boats

Disappointing
We was disappointed with hotel moved rooms as ours was very old fashioned, moved to a more modern room but very small. Hotel seemed to be a detox hotel everyone was in the spa having treatments and eating at hotel, calories on the menu and in bed by 10 not really a holiday hotel we didn't feel but close for walking into the little town which was very nice. Also quiet a smell of sewerage and my patio had bird muck on one of the chairs which was never cleaned !!

Good Hotel / spa / price but fabulous location
I’ve been coming to Carnac for around 35 years. This is the first time I’ve stayed in a hotel. I’ve also been to Spa’s all over Europe. This spa hotel is pretty good. It’s not cheap and the spa is lovely (not exceptional) and the rooms small but considering it’s location I think I will return. If the breakfast was included in the price it would be 5/5. Considering how difficult accommodation is to find in Carnac I’m impressed and would recommend it. The room was advertised as double plus two single - and as I was travelling with my son it was disappointing to be told the room detail was wrong and we ended up with a double bed. The extractor fan from the kitchen was noisy all night also which did spoil the stay quite a bit. Air con is average - but the room had a fridge which was a welcome surprise. All in all 3.5 / 5 from me

The hotel has a good swimming pool and around this there are jets to massage every part of you ! The breakfast is good and has a wide selection of things.

A relaxing 2 night stop en route from Santander to Roscoff on motorbike. We didn't have any treatments but it was lovely to be able to use the pool and spa facilities to pamper the aching muscles! Great location for the beach but not too far from the main town either. We even managed to walk to the Carnac Stones and back though the tourist train was tempting!!!

For spa & beach lovers
This place is for spa and beach lovers. Hotel is conveniently located next to beach and beach shops and restaurants. Salt water pool is a refreshing change from chlorine pools. Enough room to swim laps. Jacuzzis and saunas and gym are all included in the price. Other spa services are extra. I did not try them. The price can be reduced by using Internet booking services such as booking or hotels dot com. You can rent bikes directly from the hotel to see the menhirs and alignments, an easy ride of less than 10 kilometers total. There is.a shuttle bus to the train station in Auray which can be included in the price of the train ticket or arranged with the hotel. The hotel breakfast buffet is very nice with lots of delicious variety, although a bit expensive,probably worth it. For dinners, the hotel price meals are quite expensive and the food is mediocre. There are vegetarian choices which are less interesting than the regular choices, However, there are other restaurant choices within a short walk. Downsides: Quite expensive. Rooms on the pond side get mosquitoes if too hot to keep windows closed. No window screens. Can be boring for men not interested in spa or pool. My husband didn't like it at all. Men and women have to wear bathing cap in pool. Renovation underway so some rooms not as nice as others.

Salt water spa and near to Carnac megaliths
After a day of walking amongst megaliths and dolmens, there is nothing like the salt water spa to relax yourself in. These waters are included in your hotel stay and are well worth the visit. There are pools to soak in and different pressures of water to massage your back, shoulders, and whole body. The restaurant is excellent too. There are coffee shops and other restaurants within walking distance, and the nearby beach is lovely!

Nice Hotel close to the beach.
The Hotel is very nice. The staff were very pleasent. They seem to be upgrading the rooms at the moment so there is building work going on there. So when the drilling started in the room opposite mine I had to get up. Also there is no air conditioning in the room which meant I had to leave the door to the balcony open so the room was full of flies and a bird was in and out of the tree outside the window which didn't help.

The Carnac Thalasso and Spar hotel exceeded our expectations. Helpful staff coping with my schoolboy French, good meals in the Restaurant, musical entertainment in the afternoons and evenings, and of course the saltwater pool and treatments. We found the area around the hotel very pleasant, a short walk to the sailing centre and beach with several patisserie's, creperies abd restaurants within easy reach. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and we hope to return again next year. Dated 18/09/2012

Un séjour décevant
Notre chambre était très exiguë. Nous avions une micro-terrasse avec une table et deux chaises mais l’une d’entre elle était extrêmement sale. La salle de bain est très petite. Le personnel est peu attentionné et nous donne plus le sentiment d’être dans une caserne que dans un hôtel. Les produits du petits déjeuner sont peu qualitatifs. Cela n’est pas vraiment ce que l’on attend d’un établissement à 4 étoiles. Les espaces extérieurs du spa marins sont petits et peu propices à la détente. Nous ne reviendrons pas

Hôtel à proximité de la grande plage, des petits commerces et des restaurants. Personnel très sympathique et au petits soins. L'hôtel est chic. Seul bémol, il serait bien de changer les moquettes pour lui redonner un coup de jeune Je recommande vivement
