“If you want an overwater bungalow, go here.”
This place was amazing. We had read that other visitors had been upgraded to the Luxury bungalows, and that is exactly what happened with us. We had booked a Premium bungalow and were bumped up. There are not a lot of food options at any of the resorts, really. So, we brought breakfast bars with us, had a light lunch, and ate at the restaurants for dinner. Many restaurants will come pick you up.
“Great Choice in Paradise!”
No complaints here! Very attentive staff, beautiful beach (best on the island in my opinion). The restaurants were very good, we ate at the "K" on property, a little more expensive but definitely an intimate, dining experience.
“Pleasant Stay!”
We had overwaterbungalow room, location was good, room was nice. Check in process was easy. Hotel service was good. Service at Restaurant K was rather slow. We had a late departure and hotel let us have late check out at 4PM which was plus!
“Can't wait to return.”
Staff was warm and welcoming. OWB rooms were fantastic. Service was excellent. Even the fish were very well trained!
“Very Nice”
Our stay was very nice and we enjoyed it. It was a lot more expensive that we thought it would be. The price of food was outrageous. Be aware of the mosquitos though.... we were eaten alive while we were there :(
“Over water bungalow, nice!”
The over water bungalow was beautiful. The only problem I had with the hotel was the buffet dinner. It was 150,000 CFP ($200) with two glasses of wine and a bottle of water for the two of us. The food was mediocre at best. You are far better off getting a free ride to one of the many restaurants. I would recommend Le Mahogany. The bill was half the price and included a full bottle of wine.
“Beautiful Scenic Overwater Bungalow”
This was my honeymoon & had a very pleasant stay at La Ora. The guest relations lady was specifically extremely kind & helpful to the extent she carried my groceries from a store (where we met by coincidence) & delivered it to my room! Dinner was one of the most expensive among the rest of the Tahitian islands (including Bora Bora) but the show they pulled off was also quite nice.
“Second visit and can't wait to go back”
We stayed here and also on Bora Bora ten years ago for our honeymoon. After researching many properties for this return trip, we decided to stay here again. Our "luxury" overwater bungalow was clean and beautiful with large outside patio, lower deck and stairs to the water. Big bathroom with rain shower that opened outdoors. Flat screen TV with ESPN. Request the end of the "pontoon" for the most privacy and best ocean view (bungalows #117-#121). Wifi is not available in every room as advertised, only in the bar or at reception and very slow. Purchase wifi minutes at the reception desk. Snorkel equipment is available; we brought our own. The snorkeling was fantastic, and we saw plenty of fish, coral, a moray eel and sting ray right off our bungalow. The hotel is near the ferry and airport, but nothing is walk-able. Highly recommend renting a car. The hotel food is expensive, not great, but there are fantastic views of the ocean and big island from the restaurants and bar. We enjoyed a couples massage at the spa, which was also expensive but a nice experience. English is spoken most everywhere in the hotel and everyone was very friendly. Reviews about slow or "island time" service are accurate, but take a lesson from it - you are on vacation in paradise so sit back and relax. When budgeting for your trip, invest in an overwater bungalow and rental car for part if not all of your trip. We recommend the Sofitel Moorea and would stay there again. Mauruuru!
