“Lovely”
Awesome.
“Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa is a Real Winner!”
We arrived at the hotel at around 11:30AM and were extremely pleased that we could get an early check-in to our over water bungalow. The resort appeared to be less than fully booked and that worked in our favor. The over water bungalow was everything we imagined: spacious accommodations, incredible views, privacy, and easy access to the lagoon - literally jump off the deck of the bungalow (or use the ladder). We chose a package that included breakfast and I highly recommend that as the breakfast buffet selection (including omelet bar) afforded a full breakfast. Food at dinner in the dining room was only average. We booked reservations at local restaurants through the concierge and the restaurants provided round trip transportation (never more than 10-15 mins away and some much closer). Very easy to meet other guests and arrange others to share the free transportation. As reported elsewhere there is one restaurant within a short-ish walk, Aito but since there is no sidewalk and no real shoulder to the road, we took advantage of the free transport to go there for dinner. The Activities staff was very helpful and we rented a car for the day - about the same price as Avis, but with added convenience of having the car on the premises. Snorkeling from the bungalow was very good, including sighting a moray eel living the rocks underneath the bungalow. This property is smaller than the Sofitel and Intercontinental and we liked it that way!
“Best place to stay on Moorea”
Don't go to Tahiti unless you can afford to stay in an over-water-room. And don't stay on Moorea unless you can stay at the Hilton. Their over-water-rooms have 2 levels of decks that get you right down into the water into the best lagoon in Tahiti. In the mornings you can see whales (in season) from your bed. No other hotel on Moorea has exactly this situation. The rooms were just renovated and are beautiful.
“Fabulous stay at the Hilton Moorea”
The Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa is a beautiful hotel - the rooms were very clean - the staff friendly and accomodating, The check in process was very smooth. We used the activities desk and the staff were very helpful in explaining what to see and do on the island. The buffet breakfast is very plentiful with everything you would want and more for breakfast. It was very expensive if not included in your room rate. We would definately recommend and stay again at the Hilton Moorea.
“Gorgeous property....fantastic stay”
We stayed here after a week on a chartered catamaran. The experience was great, but the boat was far from luxurious. I had always wanted to stay in an over water bungalow and after much internet and guide book research I chose the Hilton Moorea as the location for our big splurge. I wasn't disappointed. The bungalow was furnished nicely. The deck outside has two comfortable lounges and a table and chairs. There is a lovely sitting area inside and the bed was comfortable with very good lighting for reading. The bathroom was to die for, with dual sinks, a "rain" shower and a great clawfoot tub. The decor was modern and tropical...extremely tasteful. There was a safe and a small fridge. There are only two drawbacks to the Hilton Moorea. The first is that while the resort is lovely, you are isolated from the rest of the island. There is nothing within walking distance, and taxis are few and difficult to obtain. If you are really into shopping or adventure sports, I would choose another place to visit. Moorea is extremely laid back. The second negative aspect of the Hilton is not unique only to this property...it is extremely expensive, especially for Americans. The trip cost double what a comparable vacation in Hawaii would. In conclusion, I would highly recommend the Hilton Moorea for a splurge on an over water bungalow. If you want spectacular scenery, a luxurious room, romance and relaxation, this is your place.
“The best of Moorea”
Fabulous, breathtaking location! Beautiful, comfortable, romantic bungalows over the water. (Ask for # 82 or #84- great locations). Loved private patio and swim deck. Good snorkeling in warm, shallow water. Tastey food, fresh fish. Resort is fairly isolated on island, so without a car, you are somewhat limited for dining. Friendly, helpful staff. We loved every minute, of this beautiful resort. If quiet and relaxation in an amzing island setting is what you're looking for, this is it! Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
“Nice hotel, terrible service”
The overwater bungalows and beach were absolutely incredible! You could not beat the snorkeling off the deck of our room. The pool area was nice but could have been better maintained. The service, however, was atrocious. I'm not talking about personalities - the staff there were generally friendly, but the speed and efficiency of service was the worst I've ever seen. And the drinks are simply awful. They need better bartenders if they're going to charge $20 for a drink. Overall though I loved the hotel itself and would stay again.
“Hilton Moorea”
Beautiful resort! Hotel staff were helpful and made us feel right at home.
“Good Snorkeling”
We chose the Hilton Moorea because we read the snorkeling was very good. We were not disappointed with the water, coral, or snorkeling. All excellent. The over-water bar with fish viewing at night was fun, though drinks are expensive. We could only afford the cheapest room which was still twice what we pay for an ocean front condo in Kauai. We did not expect a view, but we expected a top quality room. Our room was right on the road so we heard motor bikes and other traffic instead of the ocean, and there was no breeze being away from the ocean. Worst of all, the king-sized bed sagged on both sides like a couple of hammocks! It was really terrible. We ate our own cereal, juice and coffee in the room to save money. However the food we did eat in their two restaurants was very good. Service throughout was very good. Overall, it was a nice experience. Too bad we could not afford the ocean front or overwater bungalows.
