“Not too Shabby”

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the studio room, was nice. The bed was not very comfortable, neither were the pillows. Loved the kitchenette. Bus stop right across the street was very convenient, and a supermarket 2 blocks away.

Area recommendations
Definitely take time to see the Luxembourg Gardens. So very beautiful and relaxing. And also the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Getting around
The transportation system may be a bit of an overload at first. But once you figure it out, it's so easy! Usually you will have to take the nearest bus to a metro stop, and from there you can find where you need to go very easily. I wouldn't rely on Taxi's the whole time, because that can get very expensive! Buy a Paris Pass (2, 4, or 6 day), and transportation (Bus, Metro, Double-Decker bus) are all included!

“Great for us”

The Adagio Apart-Hotel worked well for our stay in Paris. It is located three miles south of downtown Paris in Montrouge. It was quite a walk to the metro (just under a mile), but a closer metro station (just a few blocks away from the Adagio) is under construction and will be opening in a couple of years. There is a bus route that stops right across the street from the hotel, though we prefered to walk to the metro. We were at the Adagio for a week and there wasn't any daily straightening of our room or clean towels, but we didn't care about that. The front desk was friendly, helpful, and spoke English. They over-charged our credit card, but found the mistake before we left and corrected it. Next time, we will stay closer to downtown Paris, but this worked well for us and gave us a sense of a non-tourist neighborhood. There is a small grocery store nearby (which was great because the Adagio has kitchenettes and it is much cheaper to buy food rather than eat out for every meal) and there was a bakery down the street, which provided amazing bread and great croissants. Our room was comfortable (2 adults and 2 teens) and we did have internet connection, though it was slow. The shower and toilet were in two separate rooms-a plus. There was also a balcony and in general, the Adagio was quiet (except for outside traffic). We loved Paris-the metro is fantastic-see every museum, church, Versailles, E.Tower, river tour, walk every famous neighborhood. Use Rick Steves' Paris guide.

Area recommendations
We loved all of Paris! You must see the Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee D'Orsay, Sacre Couer, Saint Chappelle, Catacombs, River Tour, Eiffel Tower (day and night), Arc De Triomphe, Place de Concorde, Champs Elysee, Latin Quarter, Luxembourg Gardens, go into all the churches, walking tour of the Montmarte area, Place de Vosges, Rodin Museum, Versailles is a must (take the RER train), Shakespeare & Co. bookstore, Pompidou Center, Tower of St. Jaques. Just walk around and explore. Paris felt very safe and the metro is amazing, once you figure out the various lines. Have different coffees, eat lots of baked goods and bread, cheeses and fruit, a little wine. If you want to blend in, don't dress in bright colors, no jeans, no sneakers, no loud voices, don't eat/drink while walking on the street or on the metro, even if you don't speak French, at least learn to ask in French if Parisians speak English (parlez vous anglais?)--the French will appreciate that. Always say hello, goodbye, and thank-you (bonjour, au-revoir, and merci). Be reserved but friendly. One downside of Paris is finding public bathrooms and water, which isn't readily served in restaurants. Bring a water bottle with you, filled in your hotel room (the city water is great) and use a bathroom whenever you see one on the street or in a cafe or museum. Buy tickets for the metro in books of ten (cardet) or get a metro pass if you will be visiting for a length of time. And, get a museum pass-it's worth it!

“Quiet Neighborhood. Nice accomodation”

It was not as close as it seems on the map but the neighbourhood was quiet. We could get anywhere from there. Hotel is nice, clean, and would recommend to others if they want a hotel outside of the buzz areas.

“Pleasant Stay”

Drove to the hotel from Holland (underground parking facility is very secure), arrived late at night but check-in was pleasant and fast. The rooms/apartments are very well appointed, modern, spacious, and clean. Overall, we were very impressed with the hotel!

“Adagio City Aparthotel Montrouge, France - a place to stay in Paris”

We scheduled our stay at this hotel and were not disappointed as it was everything advertised. We had eight in our party so two (2) 2-room apartments were needed, or a 2-room apartment and 2 studios, was a must - note all have kitchenettes. A/C and Internet access was must. This hotel had all three. Kitchenettes make dining affordable as there is a little super market 1/2 block from the hotel. If you want to eat out there are ample places to dining and/or bring food back to the hotel. Internet was free as part of the stay (this was necessary because while our trip was vacation - I still had to work). A/C worked in two of the three rooms and after one night and day (a chance to correct the problem), the staff moved us to a room with a working A/C. Parking is available, there is a charge and it is affordable. We had a van that seated 9 people, 8 adults and 18 months old. The van could be parked underground without issue. Even though the hotel is not within walking distance of the main attractions in Paris, getting to the down town areas was easy using the Paris Tram, Bus (metro) and Subway systems. These systems are on time and the time it takes to get down town can easily be done within 30 minutes. I would suggest buying a 5 day pass to use all three. Finally, we did not speak any French - we tried, other than a few words, but there was always someone on staff that could speak English. The staff was very helpful and courteous at all times. We would go back and stay here.

Traveller's tip
There are some pharmacies a few blocks from the hotel. TV is available for those that feel deprived of the daily news. We divided up our group and put 4 teenagers in one room, the adults in the remaining studio and room. A pool is not available, but with so much to see in Paris, this is not missed. Wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes as average walking distance for our party was about 5-10 miles per/day. See the Eiffel tower at night. It lights up for 5 minutes beginning at 10pm until 1am.

“Would go back, only inconvenience 10 minute walk to Metro”

The hotel room was bright, nicely decorated and quite clean and relatively spacious compared to what you find in Paris. The kitchen was a wonderful idea. We enjoyed the variety of healthier choices of fruits, breads and dairy products which we found were quite tastier than in North America. Only steps away from the supermarket and some coffee shops and fast food places. You need to have your own towels since they only change them once a week or you need to do the laundry which is more expensive than buying the towels. The only problem we had was that the staff wasn't very informative in terms of getting a cab to the airport. It cost us more than it should have because they recommended the shuttle bus which was pricier than just getting a cab off the street. Overall we were quite happy with the hotel and would recommended it to others.

Traveller's tip
Buy a weekly metro pass which is valid from Mon-Sun, great value at about $22 Euros each.

“would recommend”

This was a nice hotel. The apartment was great for our family of 4. Having a kitchen was nice and helped with expense. Balcony was nice to relax on and could see Eiffel Tower. Staff helpful. Didn't ever try their breakfast. Beds in Europe a little hard but ok. Area ok, right on outskirt of Paris but could walk 10-15 minute and catch metro into Paris. Price was good and we were happy! Great Pizza place just a few doors down. Spent most of time in middle of Paris.

Traveller's tip
Did go to local flea Market a few blocks away. That was fun.and great Pizza place close by. Also friendly little bar right next door to Pizza.
