“Are you hip enough?”
The lobby sets the tone: cucumber water on tap; a giant, decorative spoon filled with apples; long, square-sectioned sofas with fuzzy pillows; and a glossy white chair shaped like an egg cup. If you don't care much about design (like me), you might find this hotel both very comfortable and highly amusing. What's that in the bedroom? A 5-foot-square mirror - tinted green. Is that soap for the shower? No, it's "white tea massage bar." Regardless, the hotel was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Breakfast included high-end muffins and pastries, plus fruit and yogurt. There were a few signs of work still in progress (e.g. men adding more layers of black paint), but this didn't take away from a very enjoyable - and supremely hip - hotel experience.
“Excellent place to stay”
The place is modern and stylish, the location is central and convenient, the staff are helpful and considerate. Definitely recommend staying here.
“Super”
“i extended my trip!!”
This is a new boutique hotel, with an industrial design aesthetic and pretty awesome rooms (if you get the upgrade). The view was great, the bed was comfortable, and the closet & storage space were more than adequate for a couple. The hardwood floor in the room was so much nicer to look at than carpet! There was also a tastefully done kitchenette (sink, microwave, plates, silverware, glasses, mini-fridge). The bathroom was super clean. I had no noise problems. The morning coffee, smoothies, muffins & fruit in the lobby were great. I live in NYC and this hotel room felt like a cool Lower Manhattan studio. I was planning on spending just a few days, but lengthened my stay as the room was such a good deal. I had easy access to several neighborhoods, and taxis were easy to get. The hotel staff were friendly & bilingual. I tried out the TINY gym, and was disappointed with the ventilation (basically none), so i got my exercise by renting nearby BIXI bikes and riding on the numerous bike paths, or from jogging around the city. The open terrace was a cool place to chill and read a book, but depending on what's going on at street level, it can be a bit noisy. I'm not a TV person. Who goes to a hotel to watch TV anyway?!? Overall, this is a great hotel, especially for the price, and a superb point from which to explore Montreal. I'd definitely try to book there again if I had to return to the city. Hope they upgrade the gym!
“A modern and charming hotel”
I totally enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The décor was very modern and the room was very clean and comfortable. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hidden mini kitchenette. There was a wireless modem in the room. Overall, great hotel!
“great location, hip feel”
Right on the edge of Chinatown, this hotel is conveniently located to lots of cool neighborhoods in Montreal. The room is modest but comfortable and clean, with free (and good signal) wifi, a mini-fridge, wet bar and comfortable bed. Muffins and coffee for breakfast were included and more than enough since we spent far too much time eating in Montreal! STM 747 bus from the airport stops right in front (stop 8) for convenient access. Old Montreal is about a 10 minute walk away, as is the Latin Quarter. Only gripe is the micro-sized bathroom which is tiny for even one person, and a somewhat strangely designed shower. But would definitely stay again.
“Great value for money & excellent location”
We were pleasantly surprised with this inexpensive 'boutique' hotel. Our room was generous size although we thought the bed was a bit small. The staff were extremely helpful with all our touristy questions & supplied maps & direction with a smile! It was a nice touch to offer complimentary coffee & yummy muffins for breakfast.
“American in Montreal”
Hotel Zero One was exactly what my girlfriend and I were looking for. Inexpensive with great service and in a great location of Montreal. Next time we go back we will definitely stay here again! By the way, we don't speak more than 10 words in French and the hotel was very helpful in always speaking English with us. They made an awkward moment extremely comfortable.
“Very cool place, great deal”
Very cool mod hotel, friendly staff and great location. Very near to old montreal, the underground city system and right accross from chinatown. Overall wonderful experience and would definitely go back.
