Classy, elegant and convenient

Posted 30-Apr-2015
This hotel is everything a traveller could wish for: service that is warm, friendly and attentive, rooms that are well appointed and comfortable, and a great location within walking distance of the Palais des Congres, and many restaurants, shops and other attractions.

Modern, clean, comfortable, welcoming.

Such a fun place! Staff is friendly and welcoming. Hotel is clean and modern but not overly so. Location is optimal for seeing the old city. Will return! The ONLY discomfort I had was that the street is very loud on weekend nights. There is quite a bit of nightlife in the area so if you want to sleep early like I did (nerd alert!), bring some earplugs or put on the radio.

Nice oasis

Posted 24-Apr-2015
Pros: Location, amenities, staff.
Cons: Would like a coffee maker in the room rather than in the lobby.
Location: You're right in Old Montreal, walking distance to lots of things.
Great bed. Very nice staff at desk and at lobby bar/restaurant. Great all-over experience.

Even better than expected

Posted 8-Apr-2015
Pros: The decor—a kind of retro 60s/70s but with a modern feel—perfectly set off the warm, cozy feel of the exposed brick walls.
Cons: The noise at night. There must be a club across the street and people leaving it are VERY loud until VERY late, like past 2 am. Lots of car horns, too
Location: Awesome central location right in the heart of Old Montreal! As a tourist you couldn't ask for a better locale.
When we arrived at check-in, the concierge asked us if we wanted to upgrade our room to the penthouse suite. It wasn't that much more expensive than our regular room, and boy am I glad I decided to splurge. The room had two king-sized bedrooms, 2 full baths, a spacious living room/dining room and small kitchen and a HUGE private terrace that overlooked the Montreal skyline. Probably too large for just the two of us, but we couldn't have been more thrilled with the accommodations.

Great hotel in a wonderful location

Pros: Style
Location: Great restaurants
The Nelligan was perfect. Modern, comfortable rooms with great styling. The bar has Grimbergen and the breakfast was enjoyable. Service was superb.

Great hotel, beautiful room, very friendly staff. Our concern is with the amount of noise we could hear in our room from the elevators and the bar below. The room temperature was perfect but in bed it got extremely hot; we even had the window open in winter and the bed seemed to give off an awful amount of heat. Would still go back, but might be more selective on room location.

Amazing hotel!

Posted 22-Mar-2015
Such a great experience. Stayed with my boyfriend for 2 nights. When we checked in we randomly got upgraded to a suite that had a jacuzzi tub! We came to watch the Habs play and spend some time touring the town. Walked to the St.catherines street shopping centre and it is huge! We are from toronto area so this is even bigger than toronto shopping. A variety of unique stores as well as popular brand name stores to choose from. The hotel has a restaurant that we were given 2 free drink vouchers. We got to the restaurant at 11pm and they were closed but we were directed to their bar that was in the hotel and the bartender made sure we had a place to sit by asking others to move a seat down, we were very impressed! Overall amazing experience! Beds were comfy, room was clean, and they had a beer fridge stocked with any drink you wanted (at a costly price). We didn't drink anything due to price but there is a liquor store called SAQ just 2 minutes walking distance. Overall had an amazing time and I would definately recommend this hotel!

Best little hotel in Montreal. Highly recommend it

Posted 18-Mar-2015
Pros: Love Everything.
Cons: Cleaning staff could be a bit more courteous.
Location: Centrally located in the heart of Old Montreal accessible to everything in the old town and minutes away from the heartbeat of Montreal's Center.
Absolute perfection at every touch point. Beautifully located in the heart of Old Montreal "Hotel Nelligan" is in a class of its own. The staff are remarkable, the rooms impeccable and the true feeling of Old Montreal is in every corner of this little oasis. A far cry from the big chain hotel feel this is a truly unique experience.
