Great location, wonderful staff

Posted 18-Jun-2015
Pros: Location, great staff, quality, inviting atmoshere
Cons: noise noise noise
Location: Fabulous location old Montreal, easy walking, great restaurants, take comfy shoes, cobblestone streets awakward
Excellent boutique hotel, right in the middle of Montreal. The staff was excellent and the hotel itself is elegant, but we had the unfortunate luck of having repair men working directly above our room on the roof, between midnight and 1.30 am and the noise was unbelievable. Other patrons also told us that when either or both the Atrium and 5th floor Terrace is open, it is also very noisy for inward facing and top floor rooms, luckily during our stay the terrace was closed due to rain. Recommendation, lovely hotel and excellent staff but do not stay on the very top (5th) floor and don't get a room facing inwards, although some folks also complained about the street noise for outward facing rooms, especially in the early morning..

Déception

Posted 13-Jun-2015

Unusually good customer service.

I drove my coveted sports car to Montreal and gave it to the hotel valet to park. The next evening I got a voice message from the assistant manager saying that unfortunately the cars paint had been scratched and would I authorize them to send the car to a known garage the next morning at 7am to be repaired at their expense? I inspected the scratch with the manager and while a deep scratch it could easily have been overlooked by me. I did authorize them, and they had the car repaired as promised and unasked packed me a hotel lunch for my drive home! Extraordinary in this day and age. Well done Nelligan management!

A top-notch hotel right in the heart of old Montreal. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they went the extra mile to do things like putting the rollaway bed we needed in the room prior to our check-in. They were also very helpful and knowledgeable about great places to eat and sites to see. The only negative was the noise level from the roof of the hotel, which provides an amazing view of Montreal at night that draws a lot of people up there. Either plan to be up late or stay on one of the lower floors if you plan to go to bed before midnight-1am on Friday/Saturday nights.

Hotel with character and class

Posted 1-Jun-2015
Pros: We appreciated that there was valet parking right under the hotel and we could put our baggage there when we checked out while we enjoyed the area.
Cons: Valet parking was quite expensive, as was the extra bed for our daughter.
We stayed here the night before going to Montreal airport. it was perfectly located to visit the historic part of the city and also close to the Biosphere. We particularly like old hotels with character and this hit the jackpot. You can enjoy the ambience of the old building beautifully restored with natural brick, stone, and wood. And everything worked impeccably. Thanks for the voucher for a drink in the lovely atrium!

Visit to old Montreal

Posted 29-May-2015
Pros: Staff
Location: Central Old Montreal. Lots of access to bike tours, patio seating restaurants, archeological museum, hop on hope off, metro stations and souvenirs.
Hotel Nelligan is located in the center of old Montreal, close to everything. The room was exceptionally comfortable. Nice comfortable king size bed with down pillows. We had no trouble getting a good nights rest with all the activities to do in Montreal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The food was delicious in a varied menu to fit anyones taste. We would definitely return to the Nelligan o0n future visits to Montreal.

Wonderful time

Pros: The atmosphere was wonderful . Really nicely done . Comfortable . Friendly. warm . Perfectly located .
Cons: At the hotel? The air conditioning ....
Location: See above . Everything in walking distance . Information centers . Cafe's . tours , bikes , churches .
Old Montreal was wonderful . The hotel would have gotten 5 stars all the way across but the AC wasn't working so well. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay . The staff at the hotel were wonderful . The area was fun with lots of activites for teens and up . Not so much for little kids . Lots of shops , cafe's , resturants , open markets etc. But my 9 yr old would not have liked any of it . I was glad I left him home ! Lots of wine . Excellent food . unusal shops . I loved it . Cobble stone streets and little alley ways . Beautiful churches. Lots of walking , bike riding and guided tours .

Nice upscale boutique hotel

Took the wife here for tonight high-end exclusive getaway. Was very pleased with the accommodations romantic private clean lavish. room was little chilly to start out but luckily the heater in the fireplace unit worked. eventually the main he kicked in and the room was warm enough. The tub and shower are to die for. Fantastic and I mean fantastic patisserie right around the corner if you stay here you must eat at Maison Christian Fauvre. Best pastry I have ever eaten in my entire life
