“Gorgeous”

Beautiful and romantic room. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Free internet. Awesome location. Absolutely gorgeous room and bathroom, very comfortable bed with lovely bedding. All around stunning. One regret is the lack of coffee in the room, why are hotels so stingy about that these days? Otherwise a prefect place to stay in Montreal.

“Old Montreal Get-Away at the Nelligan”

Outstanding hotel that is 4 Star in every way from location to concierge service, amenities, room size and condition and overall service. Has the best roof top terrace in Old Montreal as an added bonus. Some music noise from the bar next door but certainly nothing that kept us up.

“best of everything”

excellent hotel on the main floor. right in old montreal. it is like staying in some old europe town. gorgeous. missed out on most of the other attraction of montreal because we just walked around old montreal. bedrooms are lovely, bathrooms are the most stylish and clean bathrooms i have ever seen in a hotel room and our bed was made twice a day. HIGHLY recommend.

“Lovely!”

The Nelligan was a lovely place to stay and in a great part of town. The complimentary evening wine and cheese party as well as the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. My only complaint would be the excessive noise from the garbage and recycling trucks whenever they were picking up their load, but I think this can be remedied by asking for a room at the front of the hotel.

“Oasis in Old Montreal”

Ultimate Boutique hotel in the heart of old Montreal. Great location, service and value. Will be returning soon. Check out the 5th floor patio area for a late afternoon drink.

“Small problems but resolved to our satisfaction”

We stayed in a "loft" room - very comfortable and luxurious compared to the hotel rooms we normally stay in - we staid in the "old side" which had exposed brick walls from the original building. I was wondering whether the bricks would make the room feel dirty but they had obviously been cleaned thoroughly and helped to create a very nice atmosphere. We were a little disappointed when the toilet overflowed and the internet connection wasn't working so we contacted the front desk and they promptly moved us to another room which resolved these two issues. Overall the hotel is very classy but is beginning to show small signs of needed maintenance (e.g. the jacuzzi tub in our room seems to have been installed incorrectly so the giant bead of caulking around the upper edge was separating from the wall; one of the bathrobes had several holes from being bleached so many times - it was definitely clean though!) Having said this, when we expressed our small disappointments to the staff at the Front Desk when we were checking out, the Front Desk Manager (Hilary) was extremely understanding and assured as that she appreciated us letting the hotel know about these details. She paid for our valet parking ($25) and also refunded us the difference between a standard room and the loft room ($50). We were pleased with this compensation and will happily stay at Hotel Nelligan again.

“Fantastic location and great ambience”

The hotel was within walking distance to many areas of interest in the Old Montreal zone - specially great restaurants and exhilarating art galleries. The staff were attentive, helpful and overall the hotel is one of the best I've stayed in at this very reasonable price range. Definitely will be returning.

“Nelligan - a superb hotel in Old Montreal”

We generally stay uptown at Sofitel or similar but had visited Nelligan's indoor bar previously and promised ourselves we would stay at the Nelligan next trip. We arrived in rush hour but the doorman at the hotel waved us right over to a spot and had our luggage out and the car taken care of for valet parking right away. (**Highly recommend valet parking...it only cost us an additional $25 per night and I am assuming the car was stored underground somewhere as it was lovely and cool when returned to us despite very high outdoor temps). Check-in was quick and efficient; we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a room with a fireplace and large rainforest shower for an additional $25/night and we said yes. The room was superb. The fireplace had a feature that allowed you to have the simulated glow of a fireplace without heat, so it was lovely to watch that while falling asleep. There was a very good small LG stereo unit in the room and a bedside alarm that allowed ipod plug-in. The bed was a very comfortable firm King, one of the most comfortable I have slept in in ages. Piles of massive down pillows and down comforter completed the picture. The bathroom was very large and the shower and large jacuzzi tub were great. One special note...Nelligan's Concierge Maude made dinner reservations for us at the St. James one evening, and to our delight, the waiter at the St. James presented us each with a glass of sparkling wine compliments of Maude :-)

“One of Old Montreal's best”

Make sure you don't get an interior or "atrium" room. Other than that the rooms and service are great

“Great Location in Old Montreal”

Great location on a quiet street in Old Montreal within easy walking distance to both attractions and restaurants in old Montreal as well as to the downtown shopping district. Excellent buffet breakfasts and 5-7 pm wine and cheese selection.
