Good location, you get what you pay forPosted 7-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
For the price you can't go wrong. It is a good hotel if you intend to only sleep there. Renovations are needed.

Excellent stayPosted 5-Jan-2014
For the price this hotel was absolutely excellent. We were within walking distance of Chinatown and old montreal. We had free wifi, the room was spacious, and they delivered free breakfast to our room every morning and the time of our choice. Though the hotel was not luxurious it was comfortable and perfect for spending the night before venturing out to beautiful montreal. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. They even allowed us a late checkout and no extra cost. This hotel is definitely underrated and although we stayed at pricier hotels during our stay I would definitely come back to this one first.

The windows were ill fitting so the room was constantly cold, The bathroom toilet constantly ran causing the floor to be cold in the bathroom and the heater was not very strong. Food and cleanliness were ok.

Another Fun Run to MontrealPosted 31-Dec-2013
Pros: Location, parking, value, cleanliness, friendly staff.
Cons: Hallways floor boards are squeaky. Ear plugs could be useful. The hotel is not equipped for anyone with mobility challenges.
Location: Village, Old Montreal, rue St. Denis, boul. St. Laurent, Metro stations, pharmacies, afters hours clubs,
Le St. Andre is a long standing staple in our hotels of choice in Montreal. Proximity to the village, value and convenience to driving easily in and out of the city make it an practical option when in town. Can't comment on the breakfasts any more because we're always awake too late to try the delivered breakfast tray (but while in room 116 - beside the elevator - at the end of the hallway - the floor boards did a good job of getting us well awake earlier than anticipated ;-( ). Yes - the hallway floor boards do squeak some but otherwise only other comment is the mattress in room 116 was too soft for our liking - will ask the right question next time I book. I continue to recommend as good value for the money.
Never go there if you can help it.Posted 30-Dec-2013
We booked a standard room, but on arrival, they chucked us to the smallest room in a sad corner of the hotel. The toilet was broken. We asked for a change of room, and they gave us our (original) standard room, but the door lock was faulty. For the price that we paid, there are a lot of hotels around the area that are way better. We moved to a better hotel the next day!

Budget HotelPosted 27-Nov-2013
Pros: Continental breakfast delivered to the room. Literally steps from Berri-UQAM metro station and Place Dupuis (where there is a very good food court)
Cons: I would say this hotel is "guy clean" ... but the hotel is older and could use some renovating.
Location: Metro station (Berri-UQAM) Place Dupuis (food court) Pharmacy, convenience stores, Metro supermarket (in Place Dupuis), SAQ. Location a bit seedy.
A person's experience with a hotel is a combination of the hotel itself and the expectations of the person staying there. This is not a 5 star hotel ... it is a budget hotel. Having said that, the staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast delivered to the room was excellent. The location is very close to the metro (literally just steps away) but is also in an area of town that tends to be a bit seedy. (rue Ste. Catherine's Est). I did not have a car so cannot give any info on parking. Over all, it was both adequate and convenient at a very good price.
