Affordable hotel, good location, not luxurious

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Merci beaucoup! One room reeked of smoke; the others did not. The breakfast lacked protein but the croissants were magnifique.

Quite decent stay

Posted 30-Jun-2015
It was a nice stay! Clean, room a bit small and not super fancy, but great price and location. The free breakfast was quite good and it was nice to have it delivered to our room. I really enjoyed staying here!

Just needed a place to sleep

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: Could have used a hair-dryer and an in-room coffee-pot.
Location: Great location. Walked to Old Montreal, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Latin Quarter, the Port, Place des Spectacles, Chinatown, Metro. Lots of restaurants.
Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Room is TINY but clean. Bed comfortable and both mini-fridge and air conditioning worked. Perfect place if you just need somewhere to sleep and are on a budget. Can walk to tons of restaurants, attractions, shopping, Metro. Not a fan of continental breakfast.

Would not recommend

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Pros: I did like the fact that the hotel clerk changed our room to the 2 double beds we originally booked without any hassle.
Cons: Hotel needs an upgrade and repairs should be made to the lobby and front entrance area. Clean the graffiti off the walls outside and new bedding.
Location: The Metro was very close and the hotel was within walking distance of Old Montreal. Most things were centrally located or close by.
Hotel located in Latin District of Montreal on a side street very close to the Metro, which was convenient but there was graffiti spray painted on building front and the door handle was broken at the entrance to the lobby. The hotel was not the worst I have stayed in. The rooms were adequate since we did not stay there very long but not very clean and the overall appearance was shabby and dingy.

Great hotel at a great location

Posted 21-Jun-2015
The hotel is well located a half block from St. Catherines Street and just 200m to the Berri Subway station where three lines converge. The hotel was clean, the room and bathroom a decent size, the bed was very comfortable and though they had window air conditioner it worked quietly and efficiently. I had one issue with a light no turning on and it was fixed as soon as I mentioned it. It was really nice to have a continental breakfast delivered to the room at a time we specified for the three days we were there. There was a liquor and grocery store a block away (we had a fridge in the room) and some great restaurants. We were a 20 minute walk to the east end of Old Montreal (but it would have been really easy to take the subway/metro). All in all a thoroughly wonderful three days in Montreal.

Clean convient perfect for one night stay

Posted 6-Jun-2015
My boyfriend and I came to Montreal from New York for a concert and this hotel was perfect for our one night stay. Mee speak zero French so it was great that the staff at the front desk spoke English perfectly and helped us find parking and where to eat. We had to park at he library which is right down the block and it was $12 for 24 hours in a parking job, it was very reasonably priced. The area is a little sketchy at night, a lot of crackheads. But we had no problems walking back from Berri UQAM station at 11pm. Room was clean but very small, didn't bother me though. Bathroom was also clean only problem was the shower started to fill up with water quickly so you can't take too long a shower. Overall this hotel was great and I really have no complaints for the great price we payed, would stay again!:)

Old hotel near old Montreal

Posted 27-May-2015
Pros: Friendly desk staff, WiFi, breakfast
Cons: Towels were very thin and frayed. Only got soap, no shampoo in the room.
Location: Near metro and buses. Walking distance from Old Montreal (1mi). Good restaurants and pubs close by.
We stayed a few nights post cruise at this older hotel. Turns out it is located near Old Montreal and the University of Quebec at Montreal. It is also in what is known as the Gay Village section of the city. We saw some very strange folks when walking the nearby streets. The rooms were clean and the continental breakfast was nice. We had a very noisy air conditioner, so opened our windows for cooling instead. This led to us being awakened in the night by people fighting loudly in the alleyway below. Thankfully it didn't last long. The parking was inadequate, but apparently most of the guests come via public transportation. The price was right, but might try another place next visit.

Beware of towing!!!

Posted 25-May-2015
The hotel for its price is okay. Not much to complain. But parking is horrible. Just opposite to the hotel they have a paid public parking. But beware.. People with the tow will be waiting for ticket to expire and with in a minute of expired time, they will tow your car. Planned cheating. They will demand $95.50 for releasing the car and that too you need to go to their place (cab charge $13.00. Beware of this before you park your car.

Good location on a budget

Posted 14-May-2015
Pros: Close to grocery stores, metro and buses so it was convenient for travelling.
Cons: It's a 2.5 hotel so you get what you pay for. The TV barely worked and most of the programmes were in French.
Hotel room was clean although bed slipped away from the wall as soon as you sat on it - this was easily rectified though. You get breakfast served to your room of French bread, 2 croissants, with butter, jam and peanut butter sachets, 2 cartons of juice and either tea or coffee. Room got very hot, but the room also had air con so not too much of a problem. Wifi was also provided.
