Moldy smelling carpeting

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: The staff was helpful.
Location: I will not selection this location at any time in the future.
The room Carpet smelled like mold, the bathroom exhaust fan, and light fixture was quite ineffective was so loud, it felt like a jet airplane was about the take off, the louvers cover for the cold air return was covered with filth...it appears to have never been clean since the hotel was built. yikes !!! spend your money somewhere else.

Disappointing stay -October 2014

Posted 18-Oct-2014
I had a chance to stay at this hotel for several days in October 2014 . I was thrilled to see this hotel had 4 stars upon my arrival since I was expecting 3.5 stars according to Expedia. The staff that was friendly and helpful. The room was quiet, and spacious for my lengthy stay but soon would need some updating like its cracked bathroom sink, and tired wallpaper. I was happy to see it had all the necessary conforts as well as a Kierug coffee maker, and a free WIFI. The underground parking was great and secure. The metro was close by so that I could travel very easily to my destinations. There were many restos and and even a grocery store for my convenience. Unfortunately, the bathroom was unclean upon my arrival. Also I found patato chip remains in my bed, and wondered if the sheets were ever changed! Also the carpet from my room to the elevator was littered with bits of paper; I was disappointed that not once was it vacuumed during my 4 day stay. I hope that this problem can be corrected by mangement. I cannot recommend this hotel because of cleanliness issues

Good location but old and noisy

Posted 30-Sep-2014
It could use some remodeling as its pretty old. People like to bang their door at night, 3am and housekeeping can be noisy in the early morning too. Good location and friendly staff

great location, but will need renos

Posted 30-Sep-2014
we were there for our wedding, and right from the start of the stay we had a great expierence. it was convient with the metro right there, and night life galore! the rooms were clean, staff was friendly.. it was good the only things i could criticize was that soon the building will need a renovation & the tap in our bathroom was a little leaky.

Close to the action, rooms have a great view.

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: This was located close to the sites I wanted to see. Unfortunately I had a broken ankle by the time of the trip so only did a driving tour.
Cons: There needs to be a little more English, I unfortunately can't speak or read French.
Location: Great bike paths everywhere, restaurants close by. Could easily walk to Old Montreal. Short drive to Mount Royal.
I book this hotel because the event I was attending was being held here. The event was fantastic. The hotel had everything we needed. Grocery store and shops just behind the lobby, didn't even have to leave the building.

Nice hotel very close to transport &Montreal CBD

Posted 25-Sep-2014
Pros: Really close to public transport. Airport bus route, metro trains & major bus station all within 0.5 to 1.5 blocks away. Rooms clean & very comfortable
Location: Hotel is internally connected to shopping & public transport-essential if you were there in winter time.Active travelers easy walk to any area of city
I was a bit wary booking this hotel due to other reviews but it was close to the event venue I was attending and was close to transport to/from airport so went ahead and booked. In reality it was a really nice hotel and all staff were friendly and helpful. Language was not a problem. I made the effort to say, bonjour, merci and merci beaucoup, where appropriate and I had absolutely no problems conversing and dealing with staff in English. Many areas of Montreal are a bit run-down and shabby with some vagrants/homeless people about. So it is absolutely NOT a reflection on the hotel that you see these things nearby. As a single traveler I was a little concerned before arriving but had absolutely no problems while there for three nights over a weekend in September. 24/7 reception staffing was great when I had to leave very early for an early flight in to the US. One night other guests in the hotel were a bit noisy in the corridor but overall other guests friendly and pleasant to interact with. As suggested in other reviews I specifically asked for a non-smoking floor but detected no evidence of smoking in the hotel. I struggle to recall right now but the hotel might now have a non-smoking policy throughout the building.
