“Hôtel des gouverneurs a l'ile Charron”
dans notre chambre la 321 la douche étais brisé mais tout le reste étais ok
“Hôtel vieux mais propre”
Superbe location, à 2 minutes du tunnel LH Lafontaine. Hôtel global OK mais nécessiterait une mise à niveau. Odeur persistante dans la chambre. Très propre. Correct pour y passer une nuit!
“In the deer's land!”
No doubt, it's time for an overall renovation for the hotel, to make it looking younger! Nevertheless, the administration were maintaining a decent level of a nice looking ambiance, reinforced by a super kind attitude from the receptionists and the personnel. The hotel is in the heart of a preseved regional park, on an island, crossed by a highway. We spent 6 quiet days, without any problem. Given that the hotel is backed by the woods, it was so pleasent to stop the car, on our way for dinner, and quietly take pictures of the deers searching for premature green branches! Other guests were sharing us that happy moment in their cars too! I would recommend this hotel for the people that do not insist on the fancy facets of hospitality, but rather on the human warmth of receiving guests and the total comfort without too much bling bling! After all, we're receiving the newspapers and the continental breakfast daily. If this space is dedicated to mention the bright and the dark face of the place, I should advise the other travellers to have or rent a car during their stay, or call for a taxi for their trips. Definitely, I would go back any time, without hesitating.
“good choice”
breakfast was very limited. toasts coffee muffins and juice
“Hotel Gouverneur Ile Charron”
We were just looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay with our 2 daughters after sightseeing in Montreal. Our room was bigger than other hotels we've stayed at. There is no restaurant on site, but the staff were very helpful in providing great directions to an area about 5 minutes away that had about 15 different restaurants. They served a continental breakfast of muffins, toast, bagels, cereal and juice, coffee, tea. The only down side to this hotel was that it was advertised as having a pool, and it does, but it's an outdoor pool. Not great when you're visiting Montreal in March :)
“Nice location”
Good for staying with families. Little far from down town or old Montreal but nice and quite location beside the river. We enjoyed our stay there.
“Overall, wonderful stay”
The location is great, close to most tourist attraactions. Grounds were nice and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were basic but nice. The pillows were quite old and hard, so we requested more. They came very quickly with nicer ones. The water pressure in the shower was great, although some might find it too hard, we loved it. The continental breakfast is the only thing that was dissapointing. There was a good variety of muffins, however they weren't very fresh and small. The croissants were very small. All very cheap aand inexpensive to buy at the grocery store. Juice and coffee was good though, and lots of toasters for bread. The decor is dated but nice and still in good condition. We will be returning in the future for sure!
“Great for the price”
nice and super clean hotel, it's true that you need a car if you wanna stay there but it's conveniently located on l'ile charron
