“Stylish and comfortable boutique hotel in Montreal”
The Hotel Gault was a terrific place to stay while attending a conference in Montreal - good location for both the architecturally/historically interesting old part of city and the conference center, plus quiet, very comfortable rooms. I especially appreciated the warm flooring in the bathroom area. The hotel staff consistently went out of their way to help me with a variety of business needs, helpful suggestions, or just plying me with bowls of coffee in the lobby. The decor a nice mix of contemporary flavors with old brickwork. Would be happy to stay there again.
“Bravo!”
The Hotel Gault is a superb example of "adaptive architectural re-use." The 19th century exterior is a French Baroque limestone confection, and the 21st century interior is minimalist modernism at its best. Our room was a penthouse with a wrap-around, snow-cover terrace and a southern exposure. If your idea of luxury does not include heated polished concrete floors, look elsewhere. But for me, being perched on the rooftops of Old Montreal is a fine way to experience the fierce Canadian winter! Bravo!
“Stylish and friendly”
I was very impressed by the Gault. The design is sleek and stylish, and it looks at least as good in reality as it does in the photos, but it has none of the chilliness and attitude you sometimes find in hotels that have made a point of design. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. I was in Montreal very briefly and on business, but I had a sense that it would be a great place to stay if you were traveling for pleasure: the concierge and the people on the desk are very keen to offer suggestions for restaurants, etc. The breakfast and room service are good, and, generally, all the details are very carefully thought through. I'd definitely go back.
“simple, elegant, modern”
"less is more" comes to mind describing The Gault, located in a very secluded location in old port, the building has been kept in pristine condition; the staff its very friendly, the menu very balanced and the rooms amazing. Its decor its minimalist and taken to the extreme in detail and presentation; every night the room temperature its just perfect (very important in Canada), clean to the max, and Classical music on in the sound system of the room. The Wifi works great in every point of the hotel, and toiletries are very nice
“Great hotel, great location”
The Hotel Gault lived up to all the reviews I had read in guidebooks and online. Amazing modern design in an old building, very close to the Square Victoria metro stop, and super friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again.
“Fantastic hotel go to the top of the class.”
From the moment we stepped inside The Gault Hotel our whole three days in Montreal were great, and made more so by the fantastic staff and ambiance of the hotel. In a delightful setting in the middle of the old City it was the perfect location for walking and exploring the history and enjoying all the sights and galleries surrounding the hotel.Without doubt this is one of the nicest, friendliest hotels we have stayed at in all our travels around the world, and compares very favourably with anything we have stayed at in Europe Scandinavia, UK or Australia. Well done
“great hotel”
definitely recommend this hotel . staff is very classy, discreet and helpfull, our room was great, a lot of nice restaurants close by (street saint paul) and very easy to move around. at first we thought not too many tv channels but you do not go to montreal to watch tv (and by the way i am not sure we knew how to use properly the remote control) our only regret : we miss our first night because of a messy connection (never connect at chicago airport, we spend 2 hours in migration lines and 30 min in security, miss our connecting flight and had to stay in a lousy hotel at chicago airport)
“Warm, stylish and classy”
The only downside to this hotel is struggling with suitcases up the front steps. Not a great beginning. Everything else is terrific. The Gault has one of the very few reception areas where you would want to linger, and the whole place is furnished with great taste - minimalist but warm and very comfortable. Service was excellent, and the loft room on the 5th floor was very well designed and laid out. I enjoyed the high counter and stools in my room and was very impressed overall. Few facilities, but if you want a very stylish and comfortable room in an excelelnt central location, backed up by highly attentive and thoughtful service - this is the spot.
“Our favourite Montreal Hotel”
Fabulous hotel in a great historic location, close to the harbour, close to a subway station, with wonderfully elegant rooms and lobby, friendly and attentive staff in the relaxed atmosphere of a modestly scaled hotel. Design and finish quality of the renovation of this old building is superb.
“Wonderful Staff, Exceptional Service”
This is one of the most pleasurable hotels I have ever stayed in, and by far my favorite in Montreal. The hotel is chic and the rooms are wonderful, but it is the staff that push the hotel over the top. I have never gotten this kind of service in 5 star hotels. Andre is the best concierge ever.
