“Location, Location, Location”

I knew the hotel was conveniently close to the highway... I hadn't thought about how this would effect the level of noise in the room. First room they provided was right on the highway; they then provided another room... and although it was slightly further away from the highway... the noise had not dissipated. If there is a possibility of contacting the hotel to reserve a particular room... I would strongly recommend you call to see if you can get a room that is completely facing the centre back of the hotel... farthest point from the highway. There are I believe 12 stories and I would suggest the highest floor possible. But I was on the top floor... and while I guess it helped.... Overall, not somewhere I would want to return... Nothing special except for the breakfast that through Expedia was approx $5 more and worth it... Buffet style with a selection of meats, eggs, cereals, breads, fruits, juices, milk & coffee.

“Wouldn't go back...”

This hotel sounded like a nice place to stay, but when we got there we were pretty disappointed. It is right next to a major highway and we had a room on the highway side. Also, when we had called, they said they were a five minute walk to public transportation. What they didn't mention was that the walk required us to pull our luggage accross the grass and over the highway bridge. When we asked if one of the airport shuttles would swing us by the bus stop (a 5 minute trip) the hotel staff said with the shuttles were very busy going back and forth to the airport. However, when we walked outside, two vacant shuttles were parked waiting to take someone to the airport. I will say that the drivers of the shuttles were more than helpful. One even stopped to pick us up on the way back to the hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was okay and the pool was nice and the hotel is close to a pharmacy, grocery store and mall. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you are going to be travelling to Downtown Montreal often.

“Real average”

convenient location in West island, although access to pkg lot is a bit weird. There was too much traffic noise from the adjacent hwy 40, not sure what kind of glass they used in the windows. Make sure to book a room away from the hwy. Also not impressed with the $20 movie charge, my mom pressed by mistake! Charging for local call is not cool either.

“Been there before but not again till fixed!”

We've been to this hotel before, even several times, but would not go there again until renovations are complete! The parking lit is a mess and i was not impressed with the dishevelled look of the hotel in the main areas.

“Construction!”

There are MAJOR renovations going on. Lots of construction. From the outside the hotel doesn't even look open.

“Under Construction”

This hotel is under construction. We stayed for two nights, Aug. 12 to Aug 14. There was ONLY ONE elevator in use for the whole hotel. You had to wait between 2 to 5 mins or longer. We ended up walking up/down the stairs. I had never done that before. Luckily, we were only on the 5th floor. The hot tub was not working as it's under construction. We did not stay in the hotel to eat as St. Jean Blvd. has many good restaurants for family and Fairview Mall is across the highway from the hotel. (walking distance as well).

“Don't visit while undergoing renovations”

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn before and been satisfied but this was not a good visit. The cable TV cut out for 3 hours on the evening we were there. The front desk called us in error at 4:40 am regarding the airport shuttle. We hadn't requested the shuttle or even a wake up call. The jack hammering on the floor above us began about 7 am - just as we were getting back to sleep. There was only one working elevator and construction crews were also using it. Part of the renovations is to install sound proof windows which is a good thing because the highway noise was very audible from inside the room with the windows closed. all in all a disappointing stay.

“Close it when you are jack hammering”

The young lady at the front desk responded when asked how long the renovations would continue by frowning then saying at least until mid next year. Do not get sucked into this place it's being demolished and reconstructed. It is not a hotel at this point.
