Great location for the price

Posted 19-May-2015
Hotel staff was very friendly. Have many suggestions for where to eat and what to do. Many your buses stop here but that didn't bother is. Everything was within. 20 minute walk or so. Great for kids. There was what we think was a lifeguard at the pool although he wasn't really paying much mind to the kids horsing around in the pool. Breakfast wasn't really worth it. Bacon was very crispy/burnt and if you wanted to upgrade from the continental they only have you a $5 credit when the continental breakfast is charged at $9.95. beware of the many homeless people that cry, wine and beg for money just outside the building. All in all a great stay for a single family.

Pros: The hotel has a nice location. It's near a major metro station and has a grocery and drug store in the first floor.
This hotel is a bit of a mixed bag. In some respects it's very nice in others it feels like they have cut corners. For example the lobby, elevators, hallways all look very nice, however the TP and facial tissue seem like the cheapest brand they could get. The rooms also could use a bit of work.

The hotel need to address the essentials.

Posted 14-May-2015
Pros: the location near the Subway and the taxi area.
Cons: Work on the basics.
Location: It was not a good experience. Never again!
I stayed for four nights and I found that the hotel needs to address the essentials, like light fixtures (broken) coffee maker, light bulbs. It like a three star hotel, where the one star fell down the stairs...The breakfast was good, although inconsistent and rather expensive. Noisy with work in the building, car alarms in the night and staff trying to intrude in the wrong room.

Underwhelming hotel but great location

Posted 13-May-2015
Pros: Great location! Hotel is beside main subway intersection which is incredibly convenient. It's also connected to a grocery and liquor store.
Cons: Rooms need an upgrade!
Location: Great park across the street that has seating, food and drinks. Daily live music and interesting art installations are a plus!
Hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. It doesn't look like it's been touched for years. Wall paper is peeling, rust on the windows, multiple ice mechines broken, electrical sockets don't work ect. We were able to check in early which was nice but the staff seemed indifferent.

Nice hotel

Posted 9-May-2015
Nice hotel, clean, bed and shower were good! It is not a brand new hotel, so it all looks a bit outdated. There is a supermarket right next to the hotel which is very convenient. Location is ok, but there are quote some homeless people in that area, so I would not stay there alone.

Weekend jaunt

Posted 4-May-2015
Pros: Great location, convenient parking
Location: Close to subway stop. Quick drive, taxi or nice walk to Old Montreal, restaurants on St. Denis, shopping on Saint Laurent.
Great hotel for a girls' weekend get-away in Montreal. The staff were friendly, the location was convenient, shopping and restaurants were close by, and there were two coffee shops on either side to grab a quick coffee and go.

Marillion Weekend 2015

Posted 29-Apr-2015
Pros: Courtesy of EVERY member of staff I met.
Cons: Ice on every floor?
Location: We enjoyed music at L'Olympia for three nights, and a FANTASTIC experience at O'Noir Restaurant Thursday night.
On our third visit to The Gouverneur since 2011, we received the same courtesy from the front desk, the Concierge, and house cleaning staff that we have received in past visits. The idea of staying somewhere else never really came up, and next time I return to Montreal, I will also return to The Gouverneur.

Bref séjour pour travail: positif

Posted 29-Apr-2015
