A lot of the reviews for this hotel are a little harsh, mostly because they expect more from this range of Best Western hotels I think. There is definitely room for improvement, but all in all, it was a great stay. We stayed at this hotel for three nights. Here are the pros and cons:
Cons:
- My room had a weird smell when I came in. The room wasn't dirty at all, so maybe it was a cleaner they used? Not sure, I could have complained about it, but I had a Freshener with me, so no big deal. The smell didn't return throughout my stay.
- The bathroom was very small. I had a room with a King bed and a pull out sofa, and the bathroom was tiny for how many people would be staying there. However, it was still serviceable. For the price, can't complain too much honestly.
- The inside of the hotel needs updating. The stairs, elevator, and even the walls of the room are showing their age.
Pros:
- Price. It was a good price for the room, especially downtown Montreal.
- Service. The service was very friendly, and was patient with me even though I don't know French or the area.
- Location. The absolute best part of this hotel is the location. It is near so many great things. Combined with the price, the shortcomings of the location are outweighed in my opinion.
Conclusion:
In short, don't expect too much. You are getting what you pay for, and honestly, you are getting quite a bit for the price. If you just need somewhere to sleep while you do your adventures, this is a great option.
