Outside room away from main was nice and quiet. Reception staff (thank you Lilly and Benjamin!) was super helpful and kind, they made the stay! Also loved the live musician one night with a delicious dinner.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay here. It was a beautiful property with a nice path through their gardens and some wilderness, that was home to a variety of singing birds. They have a fire pit with marshmallows our kids enjoyed roasting. Service was spectacular and every worked was very friendly. Breakfast was yummy too. It’s just a couple minute walk to a nice grocery store (to fill up the fridge they give you for the room), many restaurants, and a bakery if your heart desires. We would definitely come back.

The property was beautiful and clean. Location was great, with lots of walkable activities nearby. Additionally all of our booked tours offered free pickup from the hotel which made everything easier.

Beautiful property with great views and beautiful gardens. Close walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Nice pool and spa. Delicious food at the restaurant. Short drive to the Monteverde cloud forest. If renting a car be prepared for some rough roads glad we were there during the dry season.

Awesome place to stay in Santa Elena
This was such a great place to stay. So close to the town, and very walkable yet it felt like you were away from everything when at the hotel. Great place for families. Their trails are fun to explore and make sure you check out the frog zoo down the road. Everyone had a great time.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The views were incredible, the gardens were so nice to walk around in. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. The hotel was definitely walkable to shops and restaurants, although if you go to the main town area, you will have to walk up a fairly steep hill on the way back. We would stay here again if we are lucky enough to come back!

The property is huge, multiple pools and trails to explore. A short drive into town. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and spacious. I would stay again. The only thing I didn’t expect was to have to drive from the room to the restaurant or pools because the property is so spread out!

As a bird watcher their back garden path had amazing birds! Wish we could have spent more time here just enjoying the property. They had a night time fire pit which was nice. You can request marshmallows from the kitchen for roasting (nice touch). Staff was super friendly and we were treated with drinks as we checked in. Would come back!

The property was very nice with walking paths around and lots of outdoor sitting areas. The pool and hot tub were covered and looked great, but we did not use either. The food in the restaurant was also very good. The only things we would have changed is a softer bed and with the windows behind the shutters open it could be a little noisy. Unfortunately we didn’t notice they were open until we were checking out. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved staying at Poco a Poco. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if I’m back in Monteverde. The room was clean and very comfortable (AC, comfy bed, great bathroom). The property itself is gorgeous with amazing views. The staff are extremely nice. If you’re considering it, go ahead and book.

Strange smell, very friendly staff
The staff was super friendly, the drinks were good. However there was a strange smell in our room both nights that we have not experienced anywhere else. We thought it might be the drain, but we closed the washroom door and it was not that. We had to open the windows for a bit to let it air out but the smell came back. We do not know what it was from and since it was our second and last night there we did not inform the property. We faintly smelled it the first night but it was more pronounced the second night. The food at the restaurant was okay (compared to the other places we have been to) but the staff were super friendly so that was nice.

Bromelia room had no airconditioning and what made it worse was the main window by the door was mostly fixed glass so air flow in unit was poor. As soon as we would get in the room we left the door open to bring in some fresh air. Also there are no proper closets in this room. On the plus side gardens are beautiful to walk around in the morning with lots of birda and also an agouti.

Best restaurant
The hotel’s restaurant, Otocuma, and its staff is simply amazing. No beed to go out and search for restaurants, you will want to eat there. We had some of the best meals of our trip there. The hotel’s yard and surrounding are so beautiful and relaxing. Perfect after a day of excursions in Monteverde. The room was clean, quiet, perfect for a 2 night stay. We loved our stay at Hotel Poco a Poco.

Everything was great!
This hotel was great! Lili was extremely helpful at checkin and, later, when she booked a tour for us. The room was quiet and comfortable; it even came with a half bottle of wine! The bed was very comfy. The restaurant was a few steps away from our room and served excellent breakfasts and a dinner. The server handled special dietary requests very well. The pool area was also quite pleasant.

I strongly recommend staying at this hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are really comfy, and the food is delicious. They even have options for vegetarians and vegans. I went there with my elderly mother and my sister who recently injured her knee. They were super accommodating, giving us special rooms and parking. You will enjoy your stay at this lovely hotel. I sure did. I'm already looking forward to going back.

The staff are great. The restaurant is really good but some of the rooms need to be update. Some of the room do not have air condition and can be warm during the day.
