“Perfect getaway spot!”
I take road trips all the time up to Pacific Grove, but had never stayed at this hotel. It was perfect and will definitely stay there again! its right next to the beach and within walking distance to the actual lighthouse. It was nice that not only did they have a complementary breakfast but a complementary bbq too for dinner! a perfect little spot off the beaten path
“A good Pacific Grove Find”
We arrived to an upgraded room in their suite facility which included an afternoon wine and hors doeuvres, an adequately comfortable king bed and a complete served breakfast. A very good deal for the money. And just a short walk from the beach.
“Great place for a family to stay”
This is a great place for a family to stay. It's not fancy but was very clean. It's also very easy on the budget. A tasty breakfast buffet and afternoon barbeque are included. We stayed six nights and enjoyed it thoroughly. Our patio looked out over an old cemetery (not creepy at all) and we saw lots of deer. They came right up to the patio. You can see the ocean from some of the rooms and we walked down to the coast in just a few minutes. The microwave and refrigerator were very handy for storing a few snacks. Although I don't know when we'll get back to Monterey, we plan to stay at this hotel when we return.
“A romantic getaway in a convenient location”
I thought the suites were great. It had a log cabin feel, the room was cozy with two TVs, a sitting room and double doors opening up to a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub! I loved it! Great for a romantic getaway!
“Excellent price for amenities”
While showing its age, it was still very clean and well-kept. My room was large upper room with vaulted ceilings and balcony. Especially liked that both a full breakfast and a barbecue dinner of hot dogs or hamburgers was provided.

Very comfortable and clean. Could have better towels... Felt right at home. Staff friendly.
“Quaint & Cute”
We arrived in time to enjoy the evening BBQ, which was actually really nice. We were impressed with our room, and the overall appearance of the property. Our back porch did open to the cemetary, but we weren't bothered by that. There was a family of deer that came right up to our room. I had my two sons (14 & 2) with me, so they thought that was cool. Check in/check out went smoothly, employees were nice. We left after breakfast, which again was very good. We would definately return to this hotel.
“Perfect...”
I was surprised at how nice the lodge room was, after all I was traveling with my small dog and usually "pet rooms" are not one of the nicer rooms. No stains or odors were present to even hint I was in a special room. Also great was the barbequed burgers/hot dogs at dinner and great breakfast they provided... no skimping here!
“Great Stay”
Our family was on a trip back to California and I wanted to make our stay in Monterey special, and we weren't dissappointed. The furniture was a little dated and worn but the overall experience of the big suite was what the doctor ordered. Large bath with spa tub. My wife didn't go to dinner, just soaked in the tub. Close to ocean and a fabulous breakfast. I have recommended to several friends.
“Great atmosphere”
The location was wonderful, next to a very old cemetery which was fascinating, and a few steps from the beach. Monarch butterfly sanctuary a close distance away.
