“Great place to stay!”

7 families stayed at this location each with 1-2, 9 year old boys. The place was great, we would definitely go back.

“Great rate & beach in walking distance.”

The rooms were up-to-date and clean. I'd like to mention one very nice touch. I traveled with my daughter (she's 8). She brought along many of her favorite plush toys. When returned one evening, the bed was made with her toys nicely arranged along the pillows. My daughter was delighted to see her toys treated in such a way! : ) The only (very) minor complaint I have is the size of the dining room. The Dunes offered a great variety of breakfast foods, but it was a pretty tight squeeze in the dining area. This will NOT, however, prevent me from lodging there again. For the rate, you cannot beat the location to the beach. We look forward to staying at the Dunes again.

“Monterey Vacation”

Stayed at this hotel while on vacation in the area. Easy freeway access, good location to head north or south. Staff at the hotel were very friendly. Free breakfast included toast, muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, waffle making station. Just a variety of things to meet everyones needs.

“Good for folks who don't mind walking to the beach”

This is a moderately priced motel just off the freeway in a not fancy looking area along the sand dunes north of Monterey. It is a good place for folks who don't mind hiking a few minutes through the dunes to a great stretch of beach. There are also two entrances to Marina State Beach located nearby for those who prefer to drive. We have stayed there many times in the past 15 years. The service and cleanliness was better this time than it was a couple of years ago. The continental breakfast had more variety and nutrition than is typical.

“It was fine!”

The location is great for beach access. Our room was spacous and clean, but the furniture and decor were outdated.

“Decent hotel.”

Decent. Inexpensive. Our room wasn't initially ready, but the staff changed us to one that was. The wi-fi is non-existent though, no matter what they tell you, even at our location in the middle of the complex.

Loved the continental breakfast and so did the kids. Room was a bit small, as was the bathroom, but we were comfortable enough. Right across the street from one of the cleanest beaches we've been to. Would definitely stay again.

“Clean and simple stay”

Clean rooms with nice refridgerators. The tv needs updating, free internet but very slow. Overall a good stay for the price.
