Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa All Inclusive

Posted 19-Nov-2014
Pros: The massage was wonderful
Cons: The front desk service, housekeeping, not having enough towels, staff shouldn't argue with the guests, AC should work - I think you get the point
Location: Driving in to Montego Bay or Negril, otherwise there really isn't anything to do at the resort. Even the beach was so-so.
There was nothing Grand or Palladium, except the color of the buildings. Day 1 - It took 3-hrs for our room to be ready, there wasn't any AC, the in-room telephone didn't work, there were 3 of us in our party but only minibar drinks & towels for 2; we requested extra bottled water but it was never brought to the room; coffee, but no coffee maker. We thought it has to get better, wrong. Day 2 - AC and phone were finally fixed, however, of the 9 restaurants at the resort, 4 were under renovation, leaving only 5 open one had to close due to mechanical issues and another closed early (8:00 pm) leaving only 3 restaurants for hundreds of guests, and one of those restaurants was a buffet; requested bottle water again, it was never brought to the room, but they did bring extra towels. Day 3 - Still no bottled water brought to the room, 5 of the restaurants are open, but once again closed at 8:00 pm; we were turned away from one because they only had 31 tables and another because they only had 23 tables, and the waitlists were too long to add names to, so we grabbed fruit from the buffet restaurant – thank goodness we had a late lunch in town. Day 4, - our last night – We drove to Negril and had a wonderful time – got back to the hotel, finally a manager talks to us about the terrible time we'd and offered us a 2-nt stay &VIP service if we returned. I told her we will not be coming back to this hotel, so they comped us 1-nt stay and paid for shuttle service to the airport. BYEEE

Bad Service If they show up

Posted 17-Nov-2014
We started the trip finding our room with nothing in the fridge. No towels at all. The shower was broken and they wouldnt/didn't change our room. We got there at 3 pm and called a total of 6 times just try and get a bottle of water(since they didn't stock the fridge as promised). The food is terrible the entertainment at night is fairly cool though as there is a dance show nightly kind of Vegas like. If u go here though u can't be afraid of lizards or critters crawling in bed with you. The beaches are not good here they are very rocky if u want to get into the water. Other than that I'd say if u like all inclusive go for it..

Beautiful hotel

Posted 16-Nov-2014
Pros: There are some breath taking views.
Cons: More staff too many rules when on vacation. I felt restricted.
Location: Prepare to rent a cab.
I didn't enjoy my visit there. When booking there was a choice of king bed on my booking so I choosed it. When I got there, the room was two double beds. Spoke with the receptionist they told me the junior suite does not come with a king bed. On the computer that is not mentioned. I informed the young lady of what I book and what I wanted, which was what I booked and paid for. The room was changed the next day. The water was turned off early morning when I get up to use the bathroom, I was unable to wash my hands, that pisst me off. On many occasions when trying to reach the front desk, no answer or the bell man. The temperature of the food was not not hot enough unless you have something made special order. My friend got sick was trying to take back some ginger tea to the room and crackers, they stated there is nothing allowed to leave the buffet and taken to the room. I kindly informed them of what made him sick. The doctor and nurses are not available only on call. No where to treat yourself if you get sick so travel with supplies incase. Overal my stay was ok but could've stayed somewhere else for less money and have a better time. I still recommend it. It might not be for me but someone else might enjoy it.

Very secluded from the Jamaican culture.

Posted 13-Nov-2014
The female employees are very rude. The men how ever are very positive and accommodating. The food is awful. The people vacationing there are nice. I wouldn't recommend this place if your looking to be at the center of the Jamaican life and culture you need to take tours that are 45 minutes to an hour away. Go to Negril instead. The beaches are beautiful just wish we would have known.

Nice staff, crappy facility.

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Commode worked intermittently. Small unknown bugs crawling around room. Shortage of washcloths. Nice staff. Decent food. If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place.

Upgrade...please!

Posted 11-Nov-2014
The hotel is nice; however, many upgrades are needed within the rooms. The jetted tub in our room did not work. Also, every channel on the tv was not clear/snowy. Maintenance came to check the tv but it was never fixed. We did not spend much time in the room so we did not request a room change.

Expansive property with few downsides

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Lots of space and sitting areas. Never felt crowded. Very clean and well maintained property.
Cons: Although food and service was very good, sports restaurants were lacking in quality. Renovation was a distraction; enquire about that before you book
Location: Shopping excursions are your best bet.
We stayed at this resort in November. Pros and cons: Pros Aesthetically pleasing design, well maintained property Huge resort, reminiscent of a small college campus in terms of size rather than a typical resort. Food was generally excellent at buffet and restaurants, but snack shacks are hit or miss in terms of quality. Staff hospitality was exceptional. Lots of space, restaurants, entertainment areas. No need to reserve beach chairs, plenty of everything. Resort never felt crowded. Cons Like many beaches in this part of the island, the beach tended to be rocky and therefore not great for swimming, except for a few areas where extra sand covered over the rocks. I didn't mind, but could be a deal breaker for some. Room was clean and functional, but not particularly luxurious. Advice Get a ocean view if you can. The view of the highway is not appealing. Suite upgrade to include whirlpool bath in room is unnecessary. Spend that money toward an ocean view instead.
