Large hotelPosted 8-Mar-2014
Cons: Staff friendliness, beach area.
Location: Private location, not near shops. Nice and excluded no philandering.
Large facility, lots of room to move around, great infinity pool.

Nice and relaxing getaway on a nice propertyPosted 5-Mar-2014
Pros: Friendly staff, nice facility, and how well it was maintained.
Cons: Access to the restaurants was very disappointing - wait times of up to 2 hours is not acceptable. Food quality could be improved.
Location: The location was remote and transfers to other destinations/sightseeing could be challenging and costly if you are on a budget.
We had a very nice experience at this hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. Most of the staff a very nice and accommodating. The only thing to be weary of is that the food is not top of the line. Remember, it is an all-inclusive resort. If you are going for a nice location, relaxing environment, then you shouldn't have any issues. We would definitely go back.

Fun in the Sun VacationPosted 4-Mar-2014
Pros: It was very spacious with beaches and pools, even adult pools if you want quiet. The Infinity pool and bar are gorgeous.
This was the first time my wife and I vacationed in Jamaica. We have traveled extensively but wanted to get out of the dreary winter in Pennsylvania. The weather was beautiful as was the Grand Palladium. From the minute we arrived and were given a rum drink, until we left 5 days later the staff were very gracious and helpful. We loved the "all-inclusive" program and will look for resorts that offer it more often now. The bartenders were friendly and happy, which made the stay more enjoyable for us. The restaurant choices were excellent with a wide variety of ethnic foods. Breakfast buffets were excellent and so were the homemade omelets. The amenities were good, maybe a few more paddle boats would help. Did not try the "spa" so I can't comment on it, although it looked very relaxing and professional. Lots of entertainment during the day and at night.

Because of the mixed reviews at first I was a little skeptical about staying at the Grand Palladium. I arrive at the GP at 4pm and had no problem checking in or getting anyone to help me and my fiancée with our bags. During our stay we got nothing less than 5 star service. The facility and our room was very clean, the staff was more than helpful and there's plenty to do. The only cons I would say is that the Grand Palladium doesn't offer transportation to any of the local attractions and taxi's are a little expensive. The rooms are also not as modern in decor and could a extra power socket or two. Tips: A dollar goes a long way in Jamaica make sure you take plenty of singles. Book the snorkeling adventure trip its well worth the money. Walk around the resort there are many restaurants, pools and beaches outside of the main area and ground floor. If traveling outside of the resort negotiate a rate with your taxi and tell him what you want to do/see.

Friendliest People On EarthPosted 26-Feb-2014
For some reason the rooms felt and smelled of dampness. I went from onw room to another one with the same issue. I realized this when the bed was feeling damp and while straightening out my hair it started puffing up before my eyes. The bellstaff was a awesome..anything you asked for was "no problem mon". Hotel is beautiful with a beautiful view. The resort is huge and the security is outstanding. Everybody was polite and the staff just wants you to have a great time.

Great pool, nice beachPosted 24-Feb-2014
We enjoyed the pool area the most. The beach view is beautiful but the sand is rocky and there is a lot of jetties/ ledges which make enjoying the water a challenge. Staff is for the most part kind and happy to accommodate. Had just one terrible experience, at the Mexican restaurant we waited two hours to be seated ( in a mostly empty room), our waitress was rude and incredibly slow... This occurred on our first night and put a bad taste in our mouths, but after that all of our dining experiences were great. Kind of annoying that I had to wear a bracelet all week... Annoying tan line!

Let down for a "5-Star" ResortPosted 24-Feb-2014
Pros: The drinks at the bar were always plenty.
Cons: Everything in this resort could be improved!
Location: The hotel is not located near any main attractions. Everywhere you want to go is at least 45 minutes away!
I was very excited to travel to Jamaica and especially to a new top rate hotel; instead I received the worst all-inclusive experience! The room itself had its issues: a dead bug that was on the wall before, during and after our stay, a warm refrigerator, mold in the corners of the room, a broken Jacuzzi air vent and 2 roaches on 2 different days. After our first night’s sleep, we asked the front desk if we could change rooms due to the hard as rock beds. The front desk said that they would add mattress pads to our beds, what we got was a joke of a mattress pad they used small foam pieces and placed them around the bed. 2 out of the 6 days the cleaning staff took all of our bath towels and did not replace any of the towels in the room leaving zero towels!! The food was average in the buffets. The restaurants were nice but since reservations are not allowed, you end up waiting 2 hours to sit down to eat and the meal takes 2 hours as well and also each night at least 1 or 2 restaurants are closed due to weddings. One afternoon we decided to ask guest relations for advice for dinner, she suggested that we go to the seafood restaurant that evening because it is the largest restaurant and usually has the least amount of waiting time. We arrived at the restaurant to only find out that the restaurant was closed due to a wedding. GUEST RELATIONS sent us there and didn't even know they were closed for the evening. The lack of communication was unreal!!
