“Caribbean Oasis”

Doctor's Cave is situated in the "Hip Strip" on Glouchester Ave. in Montego Bay. The hotel offers a nice respite from some of the craziness out on the street - with a great bar and decent restaurant. The bartneder, Kenny, has been there for many years and is a font of wisdom on what to do and what to avoid in Montego Bay. Nice hotel, with good management.

“Good Location, Nice People”

Hotel is old,but in reasonably good shape, if a bit worn. The people were nice, helpful, and made the stay there pleasant. We wanted to be naer Doctors Cave Beach which was very close. The hotel is on the "Hip Strip", which puts you within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, etc. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant several times, the food was good, service varied depending on how busy it was. The bar was nice, the bartenders efficient and friendly.

“Good for the price. A little paranoid about extra guests in room”

The greeting was nice, but because of some confusion they did not recognize that I had wanted two beds because I had two guests. I was annoyed when I had to pay extra upon arrival. Make sure that your booking is explicit. When my sister who lives in Jamaica came to collect me, they were rude to her because she had a duffel bag. They thought she was trying to get a free night in the room when in fact we were on the way to Negril. Overall they were nice and accomodating. I would probably stay here again.

“Adequate”

Employees very friendly and helpful. The hotel & rooms clean if somewhat dated. The only other thing I would say is that the hotel menu is limited and the two (2) meals I had were average at best.

“Very enjoyable stay”

Room was great spacious with a lovely little verandah that overlooked the fabulous gardens & the street. It was very comfortable with a huge bed and other furniture including cable TV. Bathrooom towels were of poor quality for the price, there was no hairdryer, soaps, shampoos etc. Also no T Coffee making facilties but plenty of Ice down the hall in a huge ice machine. (If we had been there more than one night we would have asked for stuff). Decor & soft furnishings well reflected the tropical island of Jamaica. The decor was a little 'amateur' for the price of the room but it did not spoil our visit which we enjoyed to the max. Very well located for beach, shops & evening entertainment. Socail activities were also provided in the hotel which we did not participate because we were not there long enough. All the guests were very friendly. Did not dine or drink there again because of the time factor. Did try out the jaccuzzi which was very (too)hot & could be very dangerous to children. Checking in was slow, there were staff on the small reception that could have helped but they didn't. Then had to wait again to be taken to our room. For the price & think the 'reception' in general could do with improvement.

“great modest hotel near a beautiful beach”

Doctors Cave Beach Hotel is a great hotel for those on a budget. The staff is super friendly, the hotel is modest yet comfortable, and it's a 3 minute walk to beautiful doctors cave beach. The hotel is right on Montego Bays hip strip and is right down the street from Margaritaville which is quite "happening" every night (for those of you that like a good party).

“great hotel with the right expectations”

Ok, this isnt a 5 star hotel, and you arent paying a 5 star price, so dont expect that. For what it is, DCBH is great. The best part about the hotel is the location and the staff. All of the staff were extremely helpful, and knew us all by name. The rooms could have been nicer, and the bathroom was a bit run down, but it was good enough for the price. The room is spacious and we even had our own little balcony, so that was cool.

“Good Value”

For the price the hotel was an excellent deal. Hotel was clean, staff friendly, bar was nice. Breakfast was good and reasonable but the one time that we ate dinner there is was not as good as the meals that we had outside of the hotle. Dr.s cave beach was nice and the drinks and bartenders were excellent. The "hip strip" gets old quick and would recommend seeing other parts of the city. Avoid buying souveniers at the hip strip there are much better deals to be had elsewhere.

“Doctors cave beach hotel”

This hotel is quiet, staff have respect. Across the hotel is the beach, various clubs & restaurants. There are shops, pharmacy at walking distance. My wife & I had very good time
