“Decent place.”

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Not a new hotel but well kept. Free continental breakfast is good. Parking a bit cramped.

“Good quality for the price”

The room was small but efficient. All a person would need for an overnight or a couple of days. The room we were in was quiet enough except for the heater making a little bit of noice but those types are known for that. The bed was very comfortalbe and the staff extremely pleasant. Got a great deal through Expedia.ca. I would recommend this hotel to others.

“I would stay there the next time we are in Moncton”

The roo was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good with scrambled egss, sausage, good coffee and lots of extras. The staff was courteous and helpful

“Too Noisy to Sleep”

While the Rodd Hotel is located in a central and convenient location, the street noise 24/7 is unbelievable and impossible to block out. The back of the hotel faces the river and one would expect that it would be quieter; however, we were not given one of those rooms (in November, one would expect that the hotel would not be that busy that the staff couldn't find a better room). The room on the street, although clean and most adequate, was much too noisy to get any peace, let alone sleep, in - even for my hard-of-hearing husband. In other words, if you choose this hotel for its convenience location, insist on "a room with a view", i.e. overlooking the river.

“Reasonably Priced”

Reasonably priced, clean hotel downtown. Nothing fancy, but clean rooms and nice complimentary breakfast buffet that is superior to the average one.

“Sonia”

I stayed in this hotel last year and they have made substantial changes. I was disappointed that the gym was not open yet but there is a trail right behind the hotel along the water. Hot breakfast is served in the newly renovated breakfast area. Conveniently located not too far from the airport, not too far from the Université de Moncton and on Main street. The staff is always very helpful. Competitive prices.

Area recommendations

If you have time, take the drive to Hopewell Rocks (a MUST see). If you have less time and a car, try the Magnetic Hill.

“Friendly service, best view of Tidal Bore, good value”

The Rodd Moncton is easy to reach from the airport; never any need to wonder if you are on the right road. Reception is friendly, small town atmosphere. Breakfast is decent: all the usual continental items, plus cut fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage. Phone messages were properly handled. The park with the best view of the Tidal Bore is adjacent. The police station is next to that, so the area is safe. The only nearby restaurant is just past the cop shop, and it's a Keg (in the Marriott Hotel). That means high-priced (though excellent) meals. Those who arrive in daylight will have no trouble finding other restaurants further along Main Street. I arrived at 10 pm after a cross-country flight, and was lucky to find any restaurant still serving dinner. The Rodd offers a good experience at a fair price. I'd certainly choose it again. Area recommendations

Moncton has many attractions for families. I did not attend these venues, but family members who live 100 miles away make the trip 3-4 times a year with their children. Beaches on the Northumberland Strait are a short drive away.

“Not worth it”

The bathroom didn't have a working fan. Made the whole room damp after shower. The room was on the bottom floor (outside entry), every time the door opens mosquitoes come in. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all!

“Super comfy beds! Nice renos, GREAT location!”

I lived in Moncton for 5 years and had never paid much attention to the Rodd. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. Recent renos have made the interior rooms QUITE comfortable. The room was basic with two VERY comfy Queen beds, lots of pillows and a fluffy duvet made me feel like a princess! There was a flat screen tv, microwave (our mini fridge appeared to be missing) and large bathroom. (The elevator could use some updating!) I have no complaints! Great stay, great location, great beds. Breakfast was included in the rate but we didn't make it in time to take advantage. This is a GREAT feature though! A+! Thanks Rodd!

Main Street Moncton has everything you need! Restraunts, Bars, Pubs, Dance Clubs, delish pizza (even more delish at 3am!), small shops and a candy store!
