Proposal in the Italian LakesPosted 15-Oct-2014
Pros: All staff members that I interacted with were very friendly and welcoming. They had an attached Michelin star rated restaurant, which was superb.
Location: Close boat jetty for rides to other destinations on the lake (Lake Como). A few small restaurants. Also a cash machine in the village (10min walk)
This was my first trip to Italy and I enjoyed my stay greatly. Made for a great introduction to Italy and Lake Como. The hotel is well situated for visits to Como, Varesa, Bellagio and all of the lakeside towns/villages by both river boat and by car. The immediate area is quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed the flexibility of having a hire car (despite narrow roads, select the smallest model available to you to help with the acclimatisation e.g. Fiat 500) and the hotel has a garage with spaces available for a daily fee. By car we visited Villa Carlotta and also ventured out to the smaller Lago di Piano (Piano Lake) as well as Como town itself. By boat we went to Bellagio. I recommend hiring a car if possible, though I'd take insurance independently of the one offered by the company. They will push hard to take their service at collection, but hold firm, organise an alternative beforehand and politely decline. By recording/documenting your hire car at receipt (video/photograph inside and outside, note scratches/dents/faults on their documentation) and allowing a hold to be placed on a credit card, you can save money and find more comprehensive cover. Search for "independent hire car excess insurance". The breakfast buffet was good, with a nice variety of continental type options. The attached Michelin star rated restaurant, made for a great way to celebrate a successful proposal.

Wonderful and perfectPosted 7-Sep-2014
Pros: The staff in particular made this such an enjoyable experience.
Cons: The weather! I believe Northern Italy has not had the best of summers.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff made our short stay here one of the most memorable and enjoyable holidays experienced. Everyone at reception (particularly Francesca), restaurants, poolside, and those servicing the rooms spoke English (to my shame) and ensured that we had everything we needed. The lake view from our room was amazing particularly at night when the lights highlighted the beautiful Lake Como coastline. Both restaurants are worth a visit although if you are having a drink in the bar beforehand you may not need to as you'll bed erred with number of delicacies along with your drinks. All in all a fabulous hotel in a wonderful location which is less than an hour from Milan's main airport.

Amazing break!Posted 1-Sep-2014
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here just last week for a few nights and had a wonderful stay. At check in we were told we were receiving an upgrade to the Presidential Suite for our stay- the suite was beautiful and very clean with a huge balcony overlooking the lake, the views were sensational. Breakfast was great, and had a good selection and variety of foods and drinks. The pool area was very relaxing. All staff were friendly and attentive. Overall we had a great stay which set the tone for the rest of our holiday in Italy. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will hopefully be back in the near future.

Great Hotel with Lake side pool, food excellentPosted 27-Aug-2014
Pros: Lake side pool -
Cons: Decor needed updating
Location: Very little to do in the village, we found a nice bar and two other restutrants within walking distance of the hotel which were all good.
Great Hotel, Lake side pool was excellent and all staff really helpful and curtious. The building was lovely and everything was very clean. Only negative is the decor in the room was a little tired, shower grouting needed redoing and shower head needed a clean. Wallpaper grubby and starting to peel.

Very good hotel.Posted 10-Aug-2014
The hotel is very nice. The staff were extremely helpful and kindly gave us an upgrade to deluxe spa room. These were recently re-furbished and were smart, tasteful, roomy and very comfortable. Only downside was really the location. There is not much to do in the area which is really just a hamlet. One day it poured down all day and we were really just stuck in the room reading. Probably best if one has a car to tour the area. The ferry terminal is close to the hotel, but not so close that it is noisy. However, it was easy to get to other villages. When the weather was good we split our time between the pool and travelling around the lake. We stayed a week which was quite enough. I would definitely recommend the hotel though.

A fabulous resort overlooking Lake Como.Posted 9-Aug-2014
Pros: Pool, breakfast in the garden, dining over the Lake.
Cons: Refresh the rooms, although they were very nice.
Location: Did not have time to experience the surroundings, but the hotel was enough to convince me to stay longer and to relax and enjoy a grand holiday.
The resort lived up to its Grand name. Dining overlooking Lake Como is an extraordinary experience. Breakfast is served in the main hall and enjoying it in the garden is magnificent. I cannot say enough of the experience, except to say we did not stay long enough. It is elegant, and traditional as the grand hotels anywhere. I would stay here again and again, and recommend that you give this hotel a try. Stephen
