“A nice spot in Eastern Wisconsin”
Hotel is not fancy, but offers a nice large King room with free wi-fi. Convenient to Two Rivers, WI.
“Mediocre”
Hotel was OK. Check in was fast and easy enough. Quite disappointed that the outdoor pool was closed. We did not expect that, but used the indoor pool and hot tub and that was fine. Not sure why the outdoor was closed, but it was empty and a sign was posted stating something about Wisconsin new law regarding pool. We booked on line and didnt read anything about the pool being closed, nor did they tell us at check in. We ate at the bar, it was also OK. Not bad, not great. There was a band playing later in the evening. Again, they were OK. It was free. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Neighborhood was basically farm country and golf course. I can't complain, or brag about our stay. It was a nice get-a-way but over all just mediocre.
“Definitely not a "Resort"”
If you are just there to golf, I'm sure Fox Hills Resort will suit your needs. We stayed here because we were visiting friends during a Packer's home game. This meant we couldn't get a decent priced room in Green Bay. Maybe some of the non-pet rooms are better, but the area in the hotel in which we stayed was outdated & run down. Stains on the carpet greeted us upon arrival in the entry way. The bedding reminded me of an older hotel, with just 2 thin pillows. It was not what we expected from a "resort hotel." The restaurant was closed on weekdays, so we couldn't get a hot breakfast on Monday morning and the free "breakfast" was pretty darn minimal. The most irritating part of the whole stay was their pet "deposit." I don't mind paying extra to bring my dog to a hotel. I understand the additional cleaning, etc. My problem was that the website said it was a deposit. The first person I spoke with at the check-in desk also said it was a deposit that I "would get back" after my stay. Then, the girl who checked us in (after holding a "whatcha doing tonight" conversation with her co-worker, complete with swear words) charged a $25/night FEE for the dog, not a deposit. If it's a fee, just be upfront about that! Put it in the policies on Expedia and state it correctly on the website. Upon checkout, I stated this concern and was refunded $47 of the $50 fee. I have a feeling this place used to be wonderful. Unfortunately, it's lost its sparkle and needs a refresh.
“No Smoking”
On checkin was required to sign a sheet that noted no smoking in the room. While entering the room, the room literally smelt like an ash tray. They switched rooms for us, but rather odd you sign something, to be put in an ash tray.
