“Rather disappointed”
Overall we were somewhat disappointed with our stay at the Rodd Miramichi. There are a few areas which could be improved. The faucet in the bathroom sink leaked and the shower control was awkward and confusing. There was only 1 lamp at the head of the beds and for those who like to read in bed, this is not acceptable. Our room had only one easy chair and no table. The staff were friendly and efficient. Compared to other hotels we have visited recently the room lacked some comforts we expect and the price was higher than other hotels which offer more amenities.
“Should be named the Excuses Inn”
Let's just say that this hotel showed its colours from 20 minutes before I even parked. That is because it took me 20 minutes to find parking. I went into the hotel and asked if they had any parking as the lot was really full. They just shrugged. There was one section of the parking lot cordoned off by some local event with their own people protecting it and making sure that the event officials got parking. But the hotel couldn't get out of their own way. I later heard a rumor they had someone trying to snag parking spots but seeing that the front desk didn't even know it wasn't much use to me as I parked in the third circle of hell. Also the pool had an interesting slime coating the sides. I believe that the term is biofilm. I couldn't tell if it was a salt-water pool or a chlorine pool. This is not a good thing. My expectations of hotels is actually fairly low. I check in, sleep, leave. Keep it clean and don't try and screw up my travel as I get enough of that at the airport. But this hotel couldn't seem to get out of its own way let alone mine. By the end of my stay I had heard at least other 3 excuses for poor performance; the others being sorry I forgot your order. Sorry we had a big wedding last night. Sorry most of the staff here just started. Yey a place with such crappy management they can't organize parking or keep staff.
“Rodd is Great”
Great hotel! Clean / friendly, i had a great time staying here. It's clearly the nicest hotel in the area. Great view of river and a really nice indoor pool.
