“Weekday Vacation”
The pictures on the website were a great initiation of the hotel. I was completely thrilled with the look and the staff. I will most definitely be staying here again and recommend this hotel to anyone.
“Recommend with reservations”
The hotel decor was lovely. The art in common areas is amazing. Had not for it, I'd feel like downgrading my "4" rating to a "3." The patio was nice, too. Room colors were contemporary "cold," which I didn't mind, but the room smelled like someone had spilled food or vomited and the mess hadn't been well cleaned up. I contemplated asking for another room but decided to see if I'd get used to the odor. This worked for the most part, but I don't think a patron should have to resort to organic adaptation in order to have her or his room smell clean. Except for the man who brought my room service order, who initially smirked obnoxiously, the service was very good. The hotel restaurant food was a mixed bag. I ordered twice--a late night snack (via room service) and lunch in the restaurant itself. The snack was a suckling pig sandwich, which was tasty, but too heavy on the fennel and herb seasoning, which drowned out the unique taste of pork. For lunch, I ordered the grilled shrimp salad which was very disappointing. It came drowned in Italian dressing or some similar vinaigrette, leaving one of the two small pieces of grilled bread on top soggy; the greens were spinach leaves instead of the arugula named on the menu; and to add insult to injury, a remarkable amount of the leaves were yellowing! In my 40 years, that was a first! No more food from D'Amico Kitchen for me! So, my stay was acceptable. If the rates were right, I'd consider a return, but I'd look elsewhere, too.
