“Near Excel Center”
The only thing lacking is a continental breakfast.
“Great place to stay”
We stayed one night and attended the Wild game at the Excel. Very convienent and the hotel was very clean and a great bar downstairs.
“Short visit to St. Paul”
Nothing fancy - but very comfortable and in a good location. There are a few nice restaurants in easy walking distance as well as the Science museum and the Excel? Sports Arena. The "gym" was very small, but very well maintained. The on-premise restaurant was good.
“Perfect Spot for a concert stay”
Great staff, impeccable rooms, and terrific Irish pub. And it is all so convenient to the Xcel Center and downtown St. Paul. No parking hassles for the concert goer.
“Greatest time.”
Great hotel and location. If your going to an event at the Excel Energy Center, wouldn't stay anywhere else. Parking is reasonable for downtown and easy access to the interstate. Best of all housekeeping is great, came back to the room and the housekeeper made a dog out of the linens along with a personal note. Stayed at alot of hotels and that was a first and absolutely warming :)
“Nice hotel, good location”
We were very pleased with our accomodations. Good central downtown location, walking distance to a lot of attractions. We will definitely use it again.
“Great Affordable Hotel in Great Location”
I never know what to expect with a Holiday Inn, but this hotel was very nice, room were clean, and staff was friendly. I have no complaints. The location is good and there are some cafes and places to eat within walking distance. It's also easy to get on and off major highways so travel was fairly easy.
“Xcel Center Stay”
If you are ever in St. Paul for anything going on at the Xcel Center stay here. Right across the street for the arena. Parking rates night are about average for a similar locations. Plus the staff all wears Wild Jerseys during nights when the Wild play at home.

“best moderately priced hotel for Xcel Center”
if you're going to an event at the xcel center, then i HIGHLY recommend the holiday inn express downtown st. paul. it meets basic requirements of a decent bed and bathroom. the average rate is great. and the LOCATION CAN'T BE BEAT (for St. Paul only). you do pay for parking, but you would pay for parking anywhere in the city. downside: if you plan on going to downtown minneapolis, its a $30 cab ride. the hotel has the bar/restaurant - the liffey - which is pretty good too. excellent hotel if attending event at xcel center.
