“An excellent place to stay close to campus.”

The University Inn was a great place to stay while visiting the University of MN campus. It is close to Dinky Town; an easy walk. It is also close to 35W so it is convenient to get on and off the interstate. The room was exceptionally clean and everything looked new. The University Inn is designed for more of a long term stay as the room had a fully functional kitchen, but just staying one or two nights also worked. The value for the price was excellent.

“Convenient and reasonably priced”

Don't expect the frills of a hotel. This is a great value if you are looking for a hotel near the university and downtown. It reminds me more of an apartment complex than a hotel. The front desk is not always staffed but there is always a staff person on premise. The front door is locked after hours and requires a room key to get in. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We stay there at least 3 or 4 times a year and they've never given me a reason not to return.

“great location, nice bed, needs art”

nice hotel, excellent location on the Univ of Minnesota campus. Rooms are a bit spartan, but beds are much more comfortable than appearance would suggest. Kitchen and extended stay option is nice; a bit of art on the wall would be a nice touch but overall no complaints.

“Great value”

If you are looking for clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced accommodations, this is the place for you. I was a little skeptical at first, but was very pleased with my stay. I don't like to pay for a lot of extras that I don't need, and they had everything I needed.

“Good location for U of Minn visitors”

Hotel was clean but dated. It is a long stay hotel with kitchen facilities. It does not have daily maid service and there is only someone at the desk after hours on call. The breakfast is prepackaged danish.

“Good value for money”

Service was extremely friendly, helpful, but to some it may seem a bit casual.

“Great value”

For the price I paid this was a great deal. The room was clean and had a kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, stove top, microwave and coffee maker. They also provide dishes and utensils. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. There is an extra fee if you want maid service with two levels of service available, but they'll empty your trash free on request. Even if you pay the extra fee it's still a good deal. The location is not very close to the convention center, but Minneapolis mass transit got me there reliably in 30 minutes or less. Buses stop right outside the hotel and it's just minutes to the University of Minnesota campus. Situated right off an I-35 ramp, it's very handy if you have a car and offers free parking. There's free internet access and a free modest breakfast with pastries and juice.

“Acceptable”

OK, the room was decent for the price and location. It had an odor to it though and I wished I would have had some Lysol on hand. I did not say anything to the front desk as I figured it was not as bad as I made it up to be or it would go away - neither happened. I would stay there again BUT definately have room deodorizer handy. The bathroom smelled better than the rest of the room. I would use it again, though. Everything worked as it should. It was cozy. I felt safe. The people running it were pleasant, too. We had an issue getting there from the Convention Center as the road we needed changed names along the way and we didn't realize that at the time nor did the person at the hotel inform us. Chalk that up to experience.
