“A good choice”

The history of the building is interesting..., originally built as a Gimbal's department store prior to the turn of the century, then became a Marshall Fields, and then a Marriott.

“NIce room beware of smokers and slow drain”

Nice room, people next door were smoking at night and in the morning. The smell was very strong and was reported to the front desk, no actions taken. The tub drained slow but was not reported, one complaint was enough.

“Nice hotel”

This hotel is nice, nothing spectacular but nice. It's kind of tucked away and took a minute to find. We had a room that faced the river and the view was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was able to get a free upgrade on my room. The maintenance man was quick and efficient in helping us with the heat in our room. There was a young man at the desk later in the evening that was very helpful with our questions about places to eat and things to do. The location of the hotel was great (right in the middle of downtown) and there were things(restaurants, a couple places for concerts, etc.) within walking distance but it was cold so we didn't explore much. The "mall" that is across the street (and connected by the skywalk) was very disappointing. The majority of the shops were emptied out and closed. The parking for the hotel was pricey ($17 for one night) and we missed the free breakfast by sleeping in. I wish it would have gone later than 9:30 on a weekend.

“The Residence is always a good choice ... 2 for 2 so far..”

We stayed at the residence inn in memphis tenn. and it was awesome so we thought we would try the one in milwaukee, and not to our surprise it was the same if not a little better. The employees at the desk were great, upon check-in we told the girl we would like a good veiw from our room and she said she would give us the best view in the place and I think she did. Our room was very clean and so pretty the view was great.. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night just to enjoy the room. The breakfast is always great, and each morning while eating it always crosses my mind that " I can't beleive that this great breakfast is included in our room price" free internet was also great. The parking was 17 bucks a night but the garage was a piece of mind u didn't have to worry about ur car. Had some mix up about the parking charges, we paid cash for our parking and they ended up charging our card also, but they did fix their mistake... We love the residence inn!!!

“Great downtown location”

Being here for the first time, it seemed like a great way to get to know this famous city. The river is right outside and the river walk is a great place to spend a warm Summer evening. Unfortunately, dining selections are limited and pricey here, so you'll need a car to get out to see the "real" food options. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't stay downtown and would find a close-by area for less expense and more dining options.

“Solid pick in downtown Milwaukee”

Pros: very clean, comfortable and spacious room with huge ceiling height. Pleasant staff and central location. Just OK: the included breakfast was nothing special. Not so good: some noise from adjacent room as soundproofing wasn't all it could have been, awkward parking arrangement Bottom line: I would not hesitate to stay here again.

“Downtown stay”

Nice, spacious room with a nice view of the river and Lake Michigan. Hotel is also conveniently located in the downtown area.

“Not good.....but not bad”

We had a room at the rear of the hotel - not the greatest view but because of the large windows, the suite was very bright. The hotel exterior has a nice contemporary feel due to a glass facade panels but the drawback is that the acoustic between the rooms is really bad. You could hear people next door as if they were in your bedroom. Very annoying is the least we can say! The furniture upholstery is a bit dated and the kitchen could do with some refurb, Overall we had a pleasant stay and the hotel staff was very helpful.
