"Very comfortable hotel with neighborhood feel"
I stayed two nights at the Affinia Shelburne for business. I have never stayed in the Murray Hill area of NYC near Grand Central Station before (I usually stay high 50s on the West Side). This area was so much more convenient. With Grand Central nearby it couldn't have been easier to get to everywhere I needed to go in Manhattan (and I had to go to Queens for one meeting and that was easy too). The hotel was very comfortable, the staff was friendly and they even offered complimentary wine from 5-6pm in the lobby every evening. The lobby has a living room feel to it, unlike most hotel lobbies, so that ended up being very relaxing. It all felt so much more homey than the chain hotels where I usually stay. I will also note that the wifi was lightening fast. I will definitely stay there my next trip to NY.

"Lovely hotel, great location"
Room and hotel were lovely, some staff very nice but others left a lot to be desired, especially being begged for tips by bellboy on our last day when storing cases, we weren't not going to tip, very uncomfortable moment!

"Great place but lacks a spa or pool"
Had a great time. We were lucky enough to get a well priced upgrade to a bigger room. The location to Grand Central was a big bpnus

"Know what you are getting"
Hidden fees exceed the stated rate. You have to meet a perfect stranger on the street to find out where you will be staying. Not very safe. My contact was 40 minutes late, leaving me on the street in 26 degrees and a stiff wind. Also, no toiletries other than a bar of soap. They should let you know to be prepared. The process needs a lot of improvement

"Excellent hotel located in an amazing area of NYC."
From check in to check out the staff at Affinia 50 were incredible. The location was perfect too. Close to Rockefeller Centre, Times Square, Broadway and Central Park. The rooms are spacious and really clean. You have to stay here!

"Great find! And I'm a picky traveler."
NYC hotels can be tricky - small, expensive with nothing that makes your stay comfortable. This hotel was fantastic. Three of us stayed in the double room just fine. We were very happy. You can hear street noise, but it's NYC! To be expected.

"Great location in MidTown"
The Chandler is an older hotel but it is clean and sophisticated. The hotel bar has excellent high quality snacks. There is actually a very good restaurant on the premises. Many good sport bars exist in the area. The area around the hotel is safe to walk at night. The concierge at the hotel had many excellent suggestions for tourists like me. I went on the bus tour of NYC and I loved it - saw all of NYC, incl Statue of Liberty from a distance, in just ONE AFTERNOON (pick up was 2 blocks from the hotel). The staff were friendly and courteous. Standard rooms were a little small however.

"Hotel that delivers on location & comfort"
Great location. Took a cab from Penn Station and walked the rest of our time there. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff including concierge and doorman who were sincere and welcoming to my 10 year old daughter. Cozy, clean and comfortable room. Touches like warm cider available in the hotel lobby, comfortable robes and not one but 2 friendly concierge staff.
